Owen Daniels

Given the signing of Kubiak as OC in Baltimore, the links to OD have been circulating around here.

My question: What is left in the tank?

When healthy, he is at the top of "second tier" TE's in my opinion. I think he has plenty in the tank, at least another 3-4 years of productivity.

i think the stats speak for themselves. if he can play the season he's good for 40-60 catches, 500-700 yards and 3-6 touchdowns. this is as a starter so the numbers would dip behind pitta, but if he's on the field i'd put owen daniels as the best backup TE in the game.

as pollardized said, he's a bit lead footed these days, but he still manages to get open and makes a great target that flacco would be able to trust.

At his peak, one of the best. He had hands you would not even believe. He's deceptive and sneaky and he finds open spots in the field like no one else.

But the past few years, the problem has been his health.

I love Owen Daniels but I think he's done as a starter in this league. He's missed 26 games in the last five years. In eight seasons has only played all 16 games twice.

With that said, he still has value as a very effective #2 TE. He can still get open despite not moving nearly as well as he used to. And he's a very underrated blocker.

I wish him luck and I hope that he finds continued success wherever he does wind up.
