Omar Jacobs, a possible Texan?

Yo I know that a lot of ppl are tired of me talking about omar jacobs, but I watched him playing for Bowling Green and I cant get enough of this guy.

I think he will be a great NFL prospect, so I was wondering from the board members, Is their a possibility of us taking Omar Jacobs, and If we ever did could he compete for DC's Starting Job:confused:
 
The only way that we would consider taking Omar Jacobs was if he slipped to the 4th or 5th round.

1. Matt Lienhert
2. Omar Jacobs
3. Brodie Croyle
4. Vince Young
5. Jay Cutler


that order may be slightly off from what I said earlier, but it should be pretty dang close. I haven't changed my mind much about this stuff. I have always had VY rated lower than Jacobs, even before his continuing assortment of fiascos.

i'd have put cutler at three, croyle at four, and young at five.

Jacobs. If he wouldn't have been hurt as much last year, I would have bumped him up. I bet he wishes now that he would have come out after his sophomore success.

Cutler is just as riskey to me as Young. He is a "slinger" who often will try to force the ball into a spot rather than make the "safe" throw. Jacobs showed the ability and willingness to find the open man and still score TD's, while having vastly underrated scrambling abilities. He can sit in the pocket and destroy you with his patience, or turn the corner outside on you.

Was he eligible? Jacobs will rise up and he will also be a surprise pick that is considered a reach by most. Jacobs will be better in each stage of their respective careers than Cutler if both are given close to the same chances.

I wonder what's going to become of that QB from Grambling I think it is ...the guy goes 6'0 260'' and ran over 5 second 40 ...the thing is the guy threw like ...close to 30 touchdowns and only like 8 or 9 interceptions ...nice numbers ...whatya do with a guy like that ...a slow short fat guy with accuracy, lol.

He may not posess Reggie McNeal type straigh line speed, but he is a very good passer on the run. He is very mobile for his position, and has quick feet. He has great pocket presence and does not take off unless he needs to. He may be a little shorter than ideal, but he is not 260 either. I would take him over Cutler to start my team and build around.
 
The commentators on the NFL Network did not have anything good to say about Jacobs. I watched him in the throwing drills and his mechanics were sub par. He doesn't have good foot work, pushes the ball somewhat like a shot put motion and did not show a very strong arm. They said he was a long term project at qb.
