Official 2006 Senior Bowl Game Day Thread

Wow just looking at this thread it looks like a good many people are looking at some guys with blinders on. I thought it was a good game, but had way to many mistakes and egos involved. The ego part goes mainly to Mel Kiper, who has been doing this a long time and he is ok, but he really laches on to some guys man meat and never lets go. Sometimes I really think he is getting some side money from agents. I will let Coach C. and Mork make the major post about what they thought of the main players of the Senior Bowl. My observation was that the WR class is not overly thick this year, and Sinorice Moss is going to be similar to his brother after a year or two. The TEs while not overly fast like the freaks of the past years are alot more solid than I was giving credit and I would now not be pissed if they got one with one of our 3rd round picks(actually I would still be mildly pissed). The lines looked good for the most part as you would expect D'Brick and Winston were the best linemen out there. Not really sure who won the battle, but like I said Mork and Coach C. handle the actual breakdown of technique and whatnot. Deangelo looked really good as did Greenway and Freddie Roach. Roach would be a nice pickup in the 5th or something and Rocky McIntosh they both remind me of a poor man's Vilma eventhough I think McIntosh is a good step better. The corners all looked a little soft, but what you could see of Tye Hill and the really tall kid from FSU they are decent. I wish Anthony Zewhatever would have played, but maybe he wants to fall to the third so we can get him. Either way it was a good game, and the draft class will be pretty deep this year.

Deangelo will be the #2 RB drafted. He may be 5'8 or 5'9, but he runs hard and has great vision. Some compare him to a better version of Travis Henry (sans the injury issues). Smaller back, but strong runner.

Not to throw this out, but what was Emmitt Smith's size coming out of UF??

And yes, I got reemed after suggesting that DW was a better pure RB than Bush, and this was after watching this kid over the past 3 years! BTW, the Memphis Offense utilized a zone blocking scheme once they realized DW had great vision & patience. He is also deceptively quick!!

Floyd Reese is comparing him to Ladanian Tomlinson.

Reese: DeAngelo Williams like Chargers' Tomlinson

MOBILE, Ala. - Titans General Manager Floyd Reese said he believes Memphis running back DeAngelo Williams is cut in the mold of Chargers star LaDainian Tomlinson.

"I liken him to the guy at San Diego from the stature standpoint, quickness, good feet," Reese said.
