NY Jets fans on Vince Young

I was checking out some of the message boards for different teams near the top of the draft and came across this thread on the Jets board. It seems a number of them think Vince will be available at the #4 and this thread was started to get ideas on whether their fans think the Jets should grab Vince at #4, and 12/21 voters have currently said no and I thought some of their comments were interesting.
I think that is VERY unlikely for Vince to fall to #4. But anyway, I hope he does!!!! YES!

1.Reggie Bush (Texans)
2.Vince Young (Saints)
3.Matt Lienert (Titans)

NO! Unless the Lions or Ravens cough up a bunch of stuff, no way we get Young. We stick with Ferguson or trade down and draft Laurence Maroney or LenDale White.

MY THOUGHTS COMPLETELY!

I live in Austin and all I got for 13 months was VY this and VY that. He's is very overrated. Mark my words, that little pump fake juke he pulled off in the OK State game isn't gonna work, he's gonna get laid out. "But he's got great vision, and he's an incredible athelete." Yea, he also played in the second worst defensive conference in division 1 football. Wow he had great game against USC. Big deal, even if it was the championship game he was playing against another horrible defense, and seeing how no one else can play offense on Texas, there's no doubt that QB sneaking every 4 plays is gonna win a gainst a man defense who drops back - 15 yards every time Young rolled out. He's also incredibly stupid. He can hardly put sentences together (which is the farthest thing from an exagerration), and we would expect him to run a Heimerdinger offense. No, ******* that!

Mark my words, if we draft him, all we'll end up with is a Ryan Leaf with legs and the organization will be laughingstock of the NFL for the next 10 years.

Obviously these are just the opinions of fans in New York, but I thought I'd toss some of those out here so you can see what fans from somewhere outside of Texas are thinking. Here is the link if anyone else wants to check it out:

That aside, I was checking into some of these boards to post their ideas/opinions about their team possibly trading up to the #1 pick to grab Bush/Leinart/Young or whoever, so within the next hour or so I hopefully will have a thread up on the Jets, Packers, Raiders, and 49ers sites for sure on whether they should even trade up and if so how much they are willing to give up to get there and report back later today about their fans thoughts about trading and if I find any more threads about Vince.
 
People keep talking like everybody, everywhere, all across this country and even in Zimbabwe would give anything just to hold this guy's cup of warm water. That is only the case on this board, a local disease that our Chronic writers seem to have caught as well, but is apparently contained to this city.

Great talent, but hardly the "once-in-a-lifetime, trade-my-entire-team-to-draft" type guy that everyone is making him out to be.

Wow, as if he didn't need to prove he can make the NFL throws. I guess it is a good thing he did not go to any of the All-Star games. His agent does not want him to drop. Definate sign of a bust!!
 
On a followup note to what I mentioned about asking various teams' message boards about trading with us, I have only found a message board for the Jets, 49ers, and Bills and I have posted on there. If anyone knows of or can find a legitimate message board for the Packers, Raiders, Lions, or Cardinals let me know so I can post the same thing on there too (I won't bother going any lower in the draft order because I don't think anyone that low will be able/willing to move all the way up to #1).
 
vince young will be donning either battle red or titans blue on draft day. i hate the jets, i hope they move to montana. :redtowel:
 
Why would the Saints pass on him?? Nagin is pushing for NO to be "Chocolate", so they would bypass Matt Leinart for VY!

I mean, VY & Nagin do have similarities, first and foremost...they have similar speaking styles!

I'm not sure about your post, but anyways, I think the Saints would go for Leinart. The Saints have had a less-than-desirable experience with their scrambling QB Aaron Brooks. Vince Young is similar in that he is more of a runner and does not have that great of an arm, while Leinart is more of a traditional passer and is more accurate. The Saints have a group of very fast WRs that don't catch the ball very well (with the exception of Joe Horn) so they need an extra-accurate QB to put the ball where they need it, and I think that the Saints fans would prefer to have a more conventional QB like Leinart rather than a running one like Young, plus I don't think they want to draft a QB that is going to take 1-2 years to be ready to start, by then the team might be in Los Angeles if the team doesn't drastically improve now.

Leave it to a young OC turned HC (Sean Payton) to show the world he can turn VY into a super star and use his strengths to the Saints advantage....instead of worrying about his weaknesses (worked for Mack).
 
Damn, people! Can you all settle down! THE TEXANS WILL NOT DRAFT VINCE YOUNG,OK! Is it really necessary for every single person to come on this board and down the man's every step. For Christ sake, leave the man alone. All he has done is win (matter not how it's done)and he catches all sorts of hell for it. Do some of you get paid to rag on a player who hasn't even had a chance to succeed in the NFL?
 
actually , vince did go to the all start challenge and did very well! he ain't gonna be a bust, neither will bush or lienart! which ever one you guys end up with, count your blessings, but yawl are not getting young, so don't sweat it, HE IS COMING TO MY TITANS, WHERE HE BELONGS!

Yo Kimberly. You said Vince was at the All Star Challenge and did well. I've been looking for some stuff about this taped event and didn't see anything.

So do you have any additional information other than "did well?" Or does anyone else have that info?

yeah, i mean we see 6-5 235lb qbs who run a 4.45, that have a strong and accurate arm, and top intangibles every draft. we could always just wait until next year and take one, or hell maybe we can pick one up in the 2nd day of the draft.
