now that San Fran has #6 and #22

I think we could trade down with them and still get Mario Williams. They trade up with us, then they take reggie, the saints take d'brick, leinart and young go 3 & 4, hawk at #5 leaves us Mario and we pick up #22, and their
2nd rounder this year also. Here's a mock with that scenario
#6 Mario Williams
#22 Demeco Ryans
#33 Eric Winston
#37 Ashton Youboty/Johnathan Joseph
#65 Ko Simpson
#66 Abdul Hodge/Gerris Wilkerson

#6 AJ Hawk
#22 Mathias Kiwanuka/Tamba Hali w/ the rest the same

Mario probably won't drop to #6, but it would be great if he did.

or we could take Huff w/ #6 and for the rest we could pick
#22 Tye Hill
#33 Eric Winston
#38 Thomas Howard
#65 Abdul Hodge
#66 Darryl Tapp

they have far too many needs and too few picks to make a deal like this. and they already have a good backfield of RB's.

49ers | Team leaning towards keeping draft choices
Sat, 22 Apr 2006 10:03:20 -0700

The Contra Costa Times reports the San Francisco 49ers are leaning towards keeping their current draft picks instead of trying to move up in the NFL Draft. Head coach Mike Nolan did not rule out the move, but said the team was leaning towards using their No. 6 overall and No. 22 overall to acquire two players who can start from Day 1.

you can't ever really know what a team is thinkin most of the time they throw out b.s. just to trick/confuse people and to keep them from knowing what they are actually thinking.

Have to agree with K. Davis /Huff with the first pick. Go to the other side of the ball with the second pick. How far have the mighty fallen ? My my.

And when Alexander saw the breadth at what he'd done, he wept. for there were no more worlds left to conquer.

Guess the front office does matter, huh ? How good did the Colts get after Kiper punked the Irsay live on ESPN and they gave up controll of the draft ?

listen i dont like any of your ideas at all trading down to 6 isnt going to wont help us win and wont help them win every team would love Bush but hes not going to help san fransico out that much that have more needs then us.

trading down like they did, giving up 2nd & 3rd picks is a better deal for Denver. Mario Williams, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart & D'Brickashaw all be off the board, that leaves GB picking Hawk with Huff/Davis/Young/Cutler remaining. they must be targeting a CB with that selection #22 & therefore going Vernon Davis @ #6.

meanwhile the Raiders will have a choice between Vince Young or Jay Cutler :twocents:
