Why was Tennessee's first TD not challenged. It was pretty obvious that his knee was down before the ball crossed the goal line. It wouldn't have changed the final outcome, but I just wonder what the coaching staff was thinking here (if they were thinking.)

Same reason Mathis' catch wasn't challenged. (His hand was UNDER the ball!) Capers has lost a couple of challenges (therefore timeouts) this year and he is too conservative to take that risk anymore.

In his defense, I don't think they replayed the Mathis catch more than once at the stadium.

Capers is as to challenges as Carr is to dropping back to pass .... gunshy because nothing good ever comes from it

All of us in our section were yelling to challenge that play. We were yelling throw the red flag. We couldn't figure that one out. Guess Capers was too busy writing in his little notebook!

I saw it, too.

I kept yelling for him to throw the flag.

But he was too busy writing "I miss you, see you soon" notes to Chris Palmer.

I noticed it right after it happened:

Did no one notice that his knees were down and he hadn't crossed the plane? I just re-watched it (DVR) in slow motion and he was about a foot short. Why dont' we challenge???

Huh? He came up off the ground with the ball in one arm. How is that a fumble?

if you saw it on tv the titan player knocked it on to the ground. mathis picked it up off the bounce.

It bounced off his hand, which was on the ground and under the ball.
