I guess I'm going through the grieving process. Shock yesterday, anger today, probably depression tomorrow. It's the acceptance part I'm not sure about. I don't have a choice about what the FO is doing to dismantal our team, but, I do have a choice as to what I can do about it. I either continue to hang in there with my team, or I get out. Seriously folks, I DON'T like this business! I LOVE the game of football, where friendships, dedication, loyalty, pride, and FAITH holds a team together. NOT the almighty dollar. I believe the game has outgrown my expectations.
Truthfully, I'll get through this, but, not sure right now if I can call myself a "diehard" anymore. The one thing that keeps me positive is the players. It's not their fault our FO is such a F-up!! Our players are there to do their job, just like you and me, and get paid for it. They GAVE Demeco his contract, now they say; screw you, we don't want to pay that anymore, so we'll just send ya off to someone who will. F the fact that you've been the heart, soul, and inspiration to one of the best D's in the NFL, F the fact that you've given far more to the City of Houston than we are willing to give back to you!! You've played your heart out, battered your body, given 1000%, and NEVER quit being the ultimate cheerleader for the team you loved! You've been loyal to us, but, TO BAD, we don't care anymore!! ADIOS, don't let the door hit you in the ass! You didn't do enough!!!
There are fans on this board who try to negate the emotional aspect of this game. It can't be done! It's emotions that makes us football fans to start with!! I get ticked off when one of my favs is let go, I vent, biatch a lot, and usually get over it pretty quick, and move on. Not so sure this time. Might have to go through the entire grieving process before I know what to do. This one really HURTS!!

I hate what free agency has done to sports teams. Players love it, but it tears apart fan/player relationships.

When you take emotion out of it the move totally makes sense and has been expected (many thought he would just be cut).
But of course it sucks to lose a fan favorite who many of us have met several times at radio show broadcasts, autograph signings, etc., and he was never too busy to chat with fans or sign an autograph.
I'll never forget meeting him his 2nd year at a Verizon store. There was NO ONE there so I sat there at chatted with him about the NFL, players, our new QB Schaub and his toughts....
