No Mario and still win

From what I see, if we draft Mario, we expect him to stop the run and rush the passer. I think we can do without the extra run stopping part since we have Weaver. If, Mario's teammate Mnny was to fall to #33 I would consider taking him to be our pass rush end. He may be undersized and more fit for a 3-4 but most of our complaining has come form us playing guys at other poitions other than their natural posiitons. I see Manny as our Jason Taylor or Abraham. I don't think he wopuld wear out from going against the larger tackles as he will be rotated with Babin. It fills a need and is not much different from Mario. I can say I didn't know who either was at the beginning of last season, until my little bro told me I better come watch the game which was already in the late 3rd. I could really tell no difference in the two, I even confused them since I saw Manny wreaking havoc on the QB while Mario seemed to be taking it easy as they had already won the game at that point. This is just my opinion and I would like to hear what ya think

I have already flip flopped from Bush to Williams to D'Brick and have no idea what I want us to do anymore...:hairpull: I guess if I was going by need I would take D'Brick.

I know how it is, I quit giving an opinion on the first pick and just began to reason with the later picks. It makes it so much easier.

I doubt he would make it all the way to #33 past the likes of the all the 3-4 teams. NE would be tempted to get him to replace McGinest perhaps.

If he does fall he would be intriguing. He is listed as small as 220 some places, I would think that would be too small even for a pure pass rusher. If he could fit another 20lb's on his frame he could be intriguing.

We need a pass rusher at some stage I feel

Mario and Manny are far from the same type of player. Manny is obviously faster but Mario is much bigger and stronger. The point with Mario is that he can provide both a strong run stopper and good pass rush at the same time. Antwan Peek should be a nice pass rusher, Babin could be ok as a pass rusher, but neither will do much for run support. Anthony Weaver is a pretty nice run stopper but isn't much of a pass rusher at all, so he isn't going to get after the QB very much and he's not going to draw extra attention away from Peek, so he will get the majority of the attention on passing situations. Mario can do both, he can rush the passer better than Peek/Babin, he will draw all the attention of the opposing offense's blockers which will help free Peek up, and he is strong against the run. As I said before, Manny is obviously faster than Mario but he is only a situational pass rusher like Robert Mathis from the Colts and that is about all he would bring to the defense, whereas Mario is an everydown DE, he has a lot more moves than Lawson, he is a more effective pass rusher, and he's much better against the run.
