NFL Team Draft Grades

here is the link http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/review/reviews.html each day I look forward to the next review so I thought some of you might be interested too (probably already veiwing). Anyway I find it interesting that the general consensous was that the 2006 Draft was exceptional not just the first 5 or 6 picks but also its depth through 3 rds. yet the grades so far, at least from NFL Countdown have been downright average at best.

I wonder what grade they'll throw @ the Texans :hides:

That flashing on the left gives me a bad headache.

I cannot stand those bright flashing ads. I refuse to do business with any website that runs them, but as long as people click on them, they will keep running them.

Texans grade is still coming up (at least B+ IMO if not A-) but could not resist posting the Cowpokes B- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/review/teams/dallascowboys.html

One thing you have to give Dallas a ton of credit for is bringing in players who will fit in well schematically, which is a very underrated quality. It will be very hard for this class to match what last year's was able to accomplish as rookies but at the same time Carpenter should be an instant starter while others such as Fasano, Green, Watkins and Stanley could make an impact relatively early on in their pro careers. The Dallas Cowboys won't earn many style points this year and I would have liked to have seen them grab a free safety earlier but they did get a bunch of guys who will contribute for a legitimate playoff contender, which is easier said than done.

It depends if he's pro-mario or anti-mario.

I think we deserve and A or a B.

If you read the pick-by-pick analysis, he thinks like most people that the Texans really blew it with the first pick. But he likes Mario.

hot of the internet- http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/review/teams/houstontexans.html

When all is said and done this draft will be judged by how well Mario Williams plays and if he is anything less than a superstar the gamble they took by passing on Bush could go down as the Sam Bowie / Michael Jordan equivalent of the NFL Draft. There is no reason to believe that Williams won't be great though and if he does fulfill his vast potential he will be the elite pass rusher that all teams crave. The Houston Texans '06 draft class didn't end up being nearly as flashy as some thought it would be but in the end they did a great job and earned a top grade.

GRADE: A

Even more reason why Scott Wright is a clown.

However I do have a problem with where they took Williams because they could have traded down a bit, acquired some extra picks and still have gotten Williams at #4 because New Orleans and Tennessee were not going to take him.

Who says Mario wasn't going to the Saints? For a long ass time, this idiot HAD Mario going to the Saints. Who says the Saints wouldnt trade out of the pick and the person who gets #2 wouldnt take Mario?

I'm sure he would appreciate that little known fact :tease:

I feel he does a good job presenting a overall consensous opinion that reflects internet public forums, also I've found this to be true nobody knows a team better than their own dedicated fans. sure he lacks the in depth analysis & breakdown per position/player like ourlads (which is a paid site) but he does provide a quality draft link that is fun to follow for what its worth :twocents:

oh yeah he just gave the Colts a C

The Colts earn a relatively low grade for their efforts because they reached with all of their top picks and for the most part the players they chose probably have a limited upside and might not be anything more than backups and part-time players in the pros. The success or failure of this draft is going to hinge on whether Addai and Keiaho are going to be able to help adequately replace James and Thornton. If they are up to the task the Colts won't skip a beat and will remain one of the premier teams in the league, however if Addai and Rhodes falter the Indy offense isn't going to be nearly as explosive without the threat of the run and the team and Peyton Manning could be in for a very rude awakening this upcoming season. Perhaps no team in the league has as much riding on a pick in 2006 as the Colts do on Joseph Addai, which is saying something.
