Saw this a few days ago and my first thought was, 1 offensive lineman?

I think we need AT LEAST 2 in this draft.

Some of these draft guys are thinking strictly of "need" or what they believe to be a need but don't really put themselves in the Texans shoes.

We had the most pressures in the NFL by far. We will most likely rebound defensively from last year but the Texans only chance of making a Super Bowl lies on the arm and legs of Deshaun Watson, they have to protect him.

- Henderson is going to get a chance to start but he most likely won't.
- Kelemete has a chance to earn a starting job, but it's not certain.
- Fulton will be locked in as a starter.
- Martin will be a starter.
- Davenport will have a chance to start.

2 or 3 of the starting spots are filled while we look to fill the others.

I agree with Nate, we need to draft more than 1 olineman. I wouldn't even be upset with three. Two OTs and a guard would be my preference. Yes, a bit of overkill, but so many don't t work out and we need them so badly that this would just increase the odds of getting better on the phone quickly.

We just signed 3 FA OL and drafted 2 last year. Yes, we need to add some talent in the draft, but you also cannot ignore the rest of the team. If there's OL you really like then draft them but don't pass up on better players at other positions just to add OL bodies.

I'm of the opinion that we should trade up into the 2nd round and take an OT that we really like. Draft the best players after that. If they're OL then great but don't miss on a good player by putting on OL blinders.

I just can’t understand this line of thinking. I mean yeah if there are three OL available when we pick and they are the best player available then sure. But in a draft that is weak with OL I highly doubt it. This is a good draft for offensive weapons in the middle rounds. I really hope we don’t panic pick OL and pass up superior talent that could really help out.

In the third round we could very possibly end up with a starting TE and running back. Give me that over a OT that might develope and play in a year or two all day.

You must really believe in Davenport/Henderson.

There will probably be starting caliber OL there in the 3rd rd, who fell for different reasons. Okorafor (Lack of punch) Noteboom (I think should go in the 2nd but will probably fall to the 3rd.) Harrison (Suspensions) Richardson (Ditto) Cappa (Small School) These guys have the same talent level as guys like McGlinchey/Williams etc... it's a great opportunity to find a guy that can be a starting LT for you and provide depth. Something that's really been lacking.

It wouldn't bother me at all if Gaine went all offense in the 3rd/4th rds of this draft. Noteboom/Ian Thomas/Harrison in the 3rd and Bellage in the 4th would make me happy. How about you?

I completely understand the hesitancy to go strong on online to the exclusion of others, but I feel it is hyper important to fix it to protect our franchise QB that we have been waiting for practically since the franchise was started. I don't know what we have on hand currently, but my guess is that it is probably marginal and we might be whistling by the grave yard if we don't make a major effort to change it. Not what I would normally recommend to do, but I think we may have a very special talent pulling the trigger and to lose him would be a tragedy of major proportions.
