NFL Divisional Round Thread

Jacoby already has one. So does David Carr, Antonio Smith & Owen Daniels.

Sucks that Andre couldn't luck (pun intended) his way on to a Super Bowl winner.

I don't give a good god damn if they don't give a damn? And y'all can stick the jealousy guess, because it's wrong.

For me, it goes all the way back to the 60s, when the local CBS affiliate, still Ch. 11, decided to televise Cowboy games only. So, if I wanted to watch an NFL game, it was the f'cking Cowboys or nuthin. So, if they were going to force feed the Cowboys down my throat every Sunday, then I was going to root for them to lose, and I've been rooting for the Cowboys to lose ever since. And that happens to be more entrenched than any loyalty that I have for any of Houston's teams.

And just for the record, if the Texans were to win out and go to the Super Bowl, then I would root for the Cowboys to make it there also. But since the Texans lost, the other Texas team doesnt need to be in it either. And uh . . . just in case I haven't made myself clear . . .

F'CK THE COWBOYS, AND THEIR FANS.
I could be wrong, but I thought that back then CBS had the NFL/NFC and NBC had the AFL/AFC. So the CBS station couldn't have shown the Oilers anyway.

You are correct. CBS was NFC only until the last television contract(before the latest) when NBC lost the bidding war to FOX. Then CBS took the AFC and FOX the NFC

The merger between the NFL and AFL took place in 1970. My beef/hatred with CBS/Cowboys began way before that. Until then, there was only one true professional league, so I couldn't of cared less what they showed on NBC. Sorry, watching Pete Beathard and Hoyle Granger every week just wasn't cutting it, at all.

The teams I wanted to watch, every once in awhile, were Vince Lombardi's Packers, Walter Payton's Bears, Johnny Unitas's Colts, the Rams and the Fearsome Foursome, to name a few. But noooo, I had to watch the F'cken Cowboys every f'ckin week. Well, you know what? The city of Dallas should just rename itself to F'ckin, because that's what I've been calling them to this day. The F'ckin Cowboys.

Hope that clears things up.;)
