New U of Houston WR; any news/info?

Couple days ago I heard on radio UH had picked up a new WR that was touted as being very good. I was on phone so did not hear much but sense I got was he was a transfer from another U, (not a junior college). Name sounded like Tre Darius (?); not sure if first or last. No one on roster even close to that. If anyone has any info, please post or shoot me a pm.

Thanks!

Thanks, that's the guy. I would have thought NCAA would allow him to transfer without sitting out a year due to what Baylor is going through.

He had already completed a semester of school at Baylor. He graduated high school a semester early and enrolled at Baylor for the Spring semester instead of showing up in the Summer like most freshmen.

Due to this, he unfortunately has to follow the traditional transfer rules whereas the freshmen that showed up in the summer were free to leave and go wherever they wanted. It's kind of kooky but the NCAA hasn't made any rulings on the Baylor situation, so Dickson has to transfer by the same rules as every other athlete that has already attended classes.

It sucks he'll have to sit out his first year. But if he had been free to go anywhere he wouldn't be at UH so it works out best for UH this way. Because he was a traditional transfer, Baylor was able to block him from transferring to any of the other Big XII schools.

Thanks bah007, I was under impression that Penn St had to allow any player wanting to leave to go with no penalty. If so, seemed like it would work that way for Baylor's players. NCAA would not let Baylor block a transfer, but I guess I'm wrong.

You are correct about Penn St. The difference here is that the NCAA has not made any rulings on Baylor. So despite what is going on there right now, in the eyes of the NCAA this is no different than a regular transfer.
