New Mock

1- Laron Landry FS
2- Victor Abiamiri DE
3- Ryan Harris OT
4- Mike Walker WR
5- Corey Graham CB
6- Clifton Ryan DT

We just signed Green, so no RB this mock.

We get a very productive corner with nice size and speed and an elite safety to make up for his mistakes.

Abiamiri is a great athlete who gives us a natural pass rusher opposite Mario. He's a bit raw, but so was Mario.

Apparently, people have been saying how Kubiak likes Harris. I would have picked Staley in the 2nd, but if Spencer is healthy, then what's the point in taking an OT that early?

Mike Walker gives us a big #2 receiver. Good hands, size, and speed.

Clifton Ryan had a very good showing at the Shrine game. High motor guy who can get to the QB. Gives us some depth at DT which we sorely need.

Overall, we added some depth along the DLine and added to our secondary. We didnt add alot to our OLine, but that's due to the lack of overall talent and depth at the position. Filled a hole at WR with a guy with some upside. Overall, I think Landry and Walker could start right away. Abiamiri and Ryan will probably work into the rotation along the DLine but not start. Harris still needs to bulk up, and if Spencer is healthy, then Harris gives us some depth at a very weak position on our team. Graham is my sleeper pick so he probably wont see the field much his rookie year, but if Faggins sucks as much as he did last season, I wouldn't be surprised if Graham got into some games.

what good WRs would be there in the second round if we decide to try and find moulds replacement here... i was sapporting drafting a running back in the second round and now that ahmad green is here it would be good to look at a reciever imo.

why take a WR in round 2 when you can get one that can produce the same numbers in round 4?

anyways:

jarrett, hill, gonzalez, davis, rice might be there in the 2nd.

WR is the deepest position in the draft, so why take one early when other positions have less depth and fill one of our holes?

Because the draft is about taking the Best Player Available when you've got the chance. It's not necessarily about filling holes when you're a team like Houston. We have ZERO playmakers on offense, except for the obvious guy. We desperately need to take the best players available, even if they don't fill a need.

i get that, but none of these WR's available are far and away the best player available. each one has questions.

and if mike walker played at a big school, his stock would be rising along with jason hill's.

How would you feel if the Texans traded up to #3 and drafted CJ?

CJ is the only player I would even consider moving up for. I don't really like the idea of moving up at all, but it is CJ. He would make AJ a #2 WR. That is scary, and I might just be crazy enough to do it.

we'd be in a similar situation as arizona with 2 #1 WR's...except we dont have an up and coming QB.

still need an OL, still need some sort of pass rush, still need to upgrade secondary, could really use an OLB, and we could use a new QB as well.

Ya know criss you really need to give us a break on the brilliance there. You're pretty much wrong 70% of the time. Agreed you don't reach for guys in a deep draft. And wide reciever is very deep this class. Got room to hit major holes and a WR latter if that is what they want to do. All shapes and sizes, all day long. It's stupid to take a WR in the second...I don't care how good he is. I guess A.J. is just a marage then correct ?

Harris did 25 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the Combine. Wand II.

Sure hope they're correct on Spencer's recovery. Sounds like a Boselli tease to me. So where are you guys getting that he's on track to start openingh day of the season ? Just wondering If I've missed a quote or something ?
