1) Jets from HOU - RB Reggie Bush, U.S.C. (the texans trade the 1st over all to the jets for their 1st, 2nd, 3rd as well as TE Chris Baker. Since Curtis Martin isn't getting any younger the Jets pick Bush, since replacing Pennington would be way to expensive.)
2) Saints - QB Matt Leinart, U.S.C. (the saints take Leinart since he is a better fit for the new head coachs scheme)
3) Titans - QB Vince Young, Texas (the titans take Young since McNair isn't getting any young and Young will be able to take over in a couple of years.)
4) Texans from NYJ - DE Mario Williams, NC St (In 2002 the texans picked Carr over Julius Peppers, so I figured they would grab the best DE since Peppers to help with the transition to a 4-3 defense.)
5) Packers - CB Jimmy Williams, Virginia Tech (the Packers secondary has been terrible since Sharper and McKenise left so the grab a player who can CB or S, depending on which is a bigger need.)
6) Raiders - LB A.J. Hawk, Ohio St (the raiders defense has been on a down ward spiral since they got destroyed in the superbowl, while the d line is getting old the LB corps is pathetic so the select the best LB to come out in years.)
7) Browns from SF - OT DBrickashaw Ferguson, Virginia (the 49ers trade their 7th overall pick to the browns for their 1st, 3rd and next years 2nd. the browns grab the best LT in the draft to protect Fry's blindside for the next 10 to 12 years.)
8) Bills - DT Haloti Ngata, Oregon (the Bills had one of the best defenses in the nfl a few years ago, that changed when Pat Williams left as a free agent. so they pick one of the most unblockable forces in the draft to replace Williams or Sam Adams if he retires.)

We could potentially have that with TJ and Williams. The acquisition of Chris Baker fills our need at TE. We would still have 6 more selections in the top 97 of the draft (2 2nds, 3 3rds, and a 4th). With that many selections we could take 2-3 O-lineman, at least one safety, a MLB, and perhaps a corner and/or wide receiver. Remember that Kubiak (Denver) style of linemen slide in the draft because they are undersized.

Then you have the Texans picking DE Mario Williams?!?! He is the Bush of DEs but fans would tear down Reliant if they don't at least get DaBrick.
Then Packers taking a CB? The Pack is ranked 7th in Pass defense and strongly need a playmaking LB, they might pass up on the RBs in the draft but not on Hawk, and not for Williams.
The Raiders rarely draft LBs, but I guess I could see them take Hawk.

If we were to trade down to the #4 type range I would prefer to get Mario Williams there, I think he can be a dominant DE for us in a 4-3 and that's one of the few positions that is historically taken high in the draft. I like the trade down, and I'd only want to do it to get Mario or one of the OTs (I'm not real fond of Ferguson so I'd be willing to trade down a little farther and grab Eric Winston and acquire more picks in the process), or maybe one of the DBs if someone really impresses and we end up at the #6-10 range, but #4 means Mario in my books, and trade down farther if we want someone else.

10) Cardinals - CB/S Michael Huff, Texas (the cards select Huff to replace robert griffith who is coming to the end of his long career and isn't what he used to be.)
11) Rams - TE Marcedes Lewis, U.C.L.A. (while the rams have trouble on defense, they use their 1st round pick to add TE who could develop into a Antonio Gates type of player)
12) 49ers from CLE - LB Chad Greenway, Iowa (the 49ers take this tackling machine to help fix their sorry defense)
13) Ravens - OT Marcus McNeill, Auburn (the ravens have had a power running game since they won the superbowl, to they bring in McNeill to replace Orlando Brown when he decides to retire.)
14) Eagles - RB DeAngelo Williams, Memphis (while McNabb thinks that Westbrook is their best weapon, they need someone to help him carry the load in the running game since it seems that none of their RBs can stay healthy)
15) Bengals from ATL - DT Brodrick Bunkley, Florida St (the bengals trade their 1st and next years 2nd to the falcons for their 1st. the bengals had the potential to be a superbowl caliber team, but something held them back and that was their run defense. so they take the second best DT in the draft)

So just insert Bush with the Texans pick & substitute with one of the elite RB's (other than Bush) LenDale White or DeAngelo Williams for the Jets & you got a workable draft.
Trades are not really good for Mocks in my opinion anyways, its hard enough just to guess the players straight up without complicating things. We need viable sources for trades and usually they happen pretty darn close to the actual event, maybe in combination with free agency and trades. keep posted

Sorry about taking so long with an up date, but I have been busy with school work and going to classes.
17) Vikings - LB DeMeco Ryans, Alabama (the vikings defense was one of the reasons why they were terrible last year, Ryans is fast and a great tackler, which is the opposite of the vikings LBs)
18) Cowboys - OT Winston Justice, U.S.C. (age and injuries are starting to build up on the cowboys line so they draft one of the best all around tackles and has faced some of the best compition in the college ranks)
19) Chargers - WR Santonio Holmes, Ohio St (with McCardell closing in on retirement, the chargers grab the best WR in the draft)
20) Chiefs - DT Gabe Watson, Michigan (after his senior bowl preformance, Watson showed just how dominant he can be and the chiefs need an upgrade in the DT area)
21) Patriots - LB Bobby Carpenter, Ohio St (the Pats have to have one of the oldest LB corps in the nfl, so the pick Carpenter who has the ability to play ILB or OLB in their system)
22) Broncos from WAS - TE Vernon Davis, Maryland (while the broncos have some decent TEs, adding Davis would take their offense to a higher level and give Jake a good target across the middle)
23) Buccaneers - OT Eric Winston, Miami (when your LT is anthoney davis, you need an upgrade)
24) Falcons from CIN - SS Darnell Bing, U.S.C. (besides Hall the falcons secondary is terrible, Bing would give them an enforcer in the secondary)

Are D. Freeney, J. Taylor, or J. Kearse too small to be DE's? They all are under 265 with is what Babin is around and Peek has as much motor as any of them. Too small, no the only problem would be depth which u could pick up in FA and the 3rd or 4th round. LT is more a priority. D'Brick allows Pitts to move back to his natural position of left guard, with McKinney Wiegart and a new RG or RT and the O line is instanly improved. More time for Carr, more runnin room for Davis and Morency, and less pressure off of the defense. Time to cutt the flop of a FA in Wade, and put that money into a FA DE. NO Bentley is worth that money, with Babin Peek and the draft pick or DE's look good. Our big concern is who we are gonna get at the TE position and the OLB opposite Greenwood with the other top picks.

looking at his stats, he didn't contribute to the passing game for the Colts till 1998, the year before he was traded. I honestly don't see that many teams willing to draft a guy who has to get to the corner, or teams who are willing to draft a RB to line up as a reciever with the #1 pick. I can't see anyteam trading up for that kind of opportunity. & I don't see Kubiak or the Texans as a team that will employ a RB in that manner.
Nothing against Bush, he is a rare talent, but the team that utilizes that kind of talent, IMHO is just as rare.

As for the OLine, if we draft D'Brick (I'd prefer Eric Winston to D'Brick since he's more versatiile and a better allround OT), he and Pitts should be our two OTs. Winston might even be available in the 2nd round, as some recent mocks have predicted, so if we could use our 1st rounder on Bush or trade down and grab Mario, then Winston at #33 would be awesome, but I still doubt he falls that far. Anyways, if we get an OT high in the draft, he and Pitts should be our Os, Wiegert should stay at OG, hopefully McKinney will be cut and we can use our 2nd or one of our 3rd round picks on an OG (if we get D'Brick in the 1st then look at Nick Mangold, Davin Joseph, or one of those guys at #33, if we go Bush or Mario in the 1st then get the best OT in the 2nd, hopefully Winston, and then look for an OG in the 3rd). Hopefully we can also bring in LeCharles Bentley in free agency, that would give us an OLine of:
Option 1)
1st: Reggie Bush
2nd: best OT, hopefully Eric Winston is available
3rd: best interior OL, hopefully Davin Joseph is available

These four options would all improve our OLine nicely, I personally would prefer Option #2, Option #1 would be next best in my books. I think Pitts is a very good OT, maybe not a franchise-level LT but still good there, and he would be a great RT, so if we draft a guy like Ferguson or Winston that can challenge him for the LT spot, then whoever loses out on that battle moves to RT and we have two good bookend OTs. If we draft Ferguson or Winston, I'd rather put Pitts at RT and Wiegert and then another rookie (Mangold, Joseph, etc.) at OGs rather than putting Pitts at OG and having Wiegert or another guy fill in at RT, Pitts was a OT in college, he has played that for half of his NFL career, and I think he belongs there, much more so that Wiegert or a second-tier rookie OT, Wiegert is the one who's natural position through 12 years or whatever of an NFL career is at OG, and like I said hopefully McKinney is gone next year, he better take a huge salary cut if he wants to stay.
