New device may help detect concussions

Now if only there was a device for helping to detect the right section of the board to post this in!

a new device developed by researchers at San Diego State University in California may offer a solution. The team, led by Daniel Goble, has developed a technology capable of objectively measuring an athlete’s ability to balance – a key indicator of a concussion.

Seems like a nice simple screening device. The problem I see with relying on it is that concussion symptoms, including the effects on balance, in a significant percent of persons do not present for hours after a suspected event. Still sounds like a helpful tool to assess one common symptom of concussion.
