That will be an option if I can't get it done as a 4-minute video.

Thank you, guys, for all the advice. And the razzing is OK, too. It helps me to not take myself so seriously...to the point where I launch the computer off an overpass. LOL.
 
I foresee a major upset in the rankings here shortly. Granted, Pollardized is posting videos he didn't make, but by GAWD he's at least putting out some effort. GP, I demand better performance from you sir! Execute damnit!! :)
 
Yeah, I can't get Movie Maker 5.1 to finalize/publish the finished project.

And apparently I'm not alone. Multiple forums are full of people experiencing the same thing I am. And I don't think it would matter if I bought another converter/encoder program to rip the source file off YouTube...I think Movie Maker 5.1 is just screwed up in what is perhaps THE most important function of all. So awful, that the other 99% of it has been working like a champ for me.

Anybody got a copy of Final Cut Pro 7 for Mac they'd like to give me? It's only $999.

GP is coding at 6.8 mb/second with Apple but has decided to keep using Windows anyway.

All I hope is that it retained the same timing on the subtitles, etc. If it did, then I will be exstatic.

On a side-note: This stuff sticks in my brain forever. I mean, if I can't conquer a computer problem...it really irritates me. It's like my intelligence has been assaulted by the computer, and I have to choose whether I crawl away in shame or stand up to it and punch it in the face.

Even if Brakos gets it posted, and even if it's good, there will be the residue of FAIL left on me. I bet if I had Final Cut Pro 7 on my Mac, I could have had this accomplished in like 2 hours total. LOL.

I worked from 2:00 yesterday afternoon until 3:30 in the morning on it. LOL. I have no clue what happened in the news, sports scores, or if my wife and kids are even still around. LOL.

I get crazy like this if I lose something, too. I mean, I will skip meals and completely zone-out to try and turn the house upside down in order to find something I lost that I know I just saw the other day.

I. Think. I. Figured. It. Out!

This whole time I was converting the ripped source file into a WMV file, which Movie Maker gladly accepted (and I thought nothing of, since it was working well during the production of the project).

I went back and re-ripped the YouTube source file into an AVI format, dumped the avi file into Movie Maker, and it FINALIZED IT!!!!!!!!!

OK, boys! I am now going to add my subtitles and shoot this thing to YouTube. Even if Brakos beats me to it, I feel great about figuring it out.

As a recent convert to a Mac myself, I can sympathize. I'm running VMWARE so I can have still use Windows 7. Haven't been able to totally make the transition, but it's not from lack of effort or want to :) I spent 29 years of my life on a PC, but this old dog can learn new tricks.

Because I am done with building the subtitles, and am at 40% completion on converting it to a WMV file.

Next stop: YouTube.

The Amazing Hitler Parody Video Race. Sounds like a great TV show to me.

(Plus, I made a few changes to the subtitles, changing some stuff up. Improved it.)

It has the link to the video, but you know how YouTube is when you upload a vdieo...it doesn't always appear right away.
