My Mini Mock / Wish List Post Combine

Wish List 3.5

15 Clay Matthews OLB43 DE43 USC
46 Patrick Chung SS Oregon
77 Rashad Johnson FS Alabama
108 Ian Johnson RB Boise ST
118 Ryan Purvis TE Boston College
144 Sebastian Vollmer OT Houston
175 Johnny Knox WRS Abilene Christian
206 Kaluka Maiava OLB USC

Most of this is a repeat, but I have not started a draft LB SS FS. That is adding some defensive upgrades. Chung and Johnson would be two solid young safeties that should be play makers. BTW William Moore had a solid pro-day and might have to sneak back on my list.

Ian Johnson just scores TDs

Purvis would add a blocking TE who can catch.

Vollmer is project at OT but his upside is huge.

Knox has the tools, but has not played against elite talent.

Kaluka Maiava is a smart player that might work his way into a starting job in the next few years.

I am drafting more offense then I wanted to, so Purvis might have to be replaced with a pass rush specialist.

I could live with this draft. I would go a different way at 4, 5 and 6. The rest I would be really happy with. If we go RB in the 4th I hope there is better quality left than Ian Johnson.

If we end up with Mathews, I hope it's after a trade back.

I can dig Chung

Y'all think R. Johnson will last until the 3rd. I'm not sure about that. If he's there in the 3rd we'd have to grab him.

I agree with mussop about RB I. Johnson. A marriage proposal doesn't make him a good RB. He's just not that good.

My .02 on the top 4

Looks pretty good. Don't know what you'd do with Knox. But he can flat out fly.

Back to back safeties..after they have already said they like Willson. Resigned him to be a back up. Starter if they do not take one and the project bust out this summer, whom they've also stated...multple times, they like a lot and want to give a real shot at a starters role...and you've got how many more "S" type tweeners on the roster ? Don't know about that one.

If they do do that, go back to back Safety, early, very early.... that would mean the interchangeable safety thingy is dead.
I've heard no one from the Texans state this yet.

Another though: With the DBs class....This DB class you are just as likely to hit one in the fourth or fifth as you are in the second or third. The speed is negligible between all of these guys .

Last four picks are rock solid...Just don't think they'll bang two safetys that high.

I don't think they go safety back to back either, just trying it on for size. With the signing of the DE, not sure where else the value is in round two at #46. But I will say that Chung and Johnson are better than any safeties we have had on the roster, well at least on paper.

I like Donald Brown, but I do not see him being available at #46...
