My Favorite NFL memories from 2002-Now

YodAa

Rookie
I 1st began liking football in '02 and thats why I will be listing my favorite memories since then til now!

Number 5: Marcus Coleman's 100+ yd INT return vs Chiefs - I picked this one because I think this is probably one of the best plays in Texans history, also they Marcus just jumped for the ball so sure of himself and took it all the way back! Great play.

#4: Dwight Smith's 1st INT return in Super Bowl XXXVII vs Raiders - Dwight Smith is one of the most underated players in the NFL and a future star. He deserved to be the MVP of SB XXXVII and is my former fav player. This INT was great because the Raider WR almost has it in his hands when Smith takes it and runs like a bat out of Somewhere I won't mention. Smith was so fast he was celebrating before he got to the Endzone.

Numero 3:Ronde Barber's INT return vs Eagles at NFC Championship Game - Finally the Bucs were winning in Phily but the SB wasn't a sure bet yet until out no where...INT Ronde Barber! Ronde took a dagger a jammed it down the Eagles throats! He grabbed that football and ran all the way to San Diego!

Dos: Demarcus Faggins INT return vs Jaguars - Demarcus gets the ball and takes it back, jumps into the Endzone and makes an unforgetable sight (as well as a great comp background) surrounded in a sea of red to close out the Jags!

Now the one you've been waiting for: Derrick Brooks INT return vs St.Louis Rams on MNF in '02 - I didn't watch football yet but the Texans were made so I was getting into Football. I decided to watch MNF and it happens to be Week 3 and the Bucs are on. The game is almost done and the Bucs totally dominated Defensively. Warner throws the ball. Big Mistake! Derrick Brooks grabs that ball and takes off! He follows his blocks and Warren Sapp takes out the last person and Brooks gets into the Endzone and gets me into football! Witout this I would've never been on this board.

1. Beating the Steelers 24-6 with only 40-something (47?) yards of offense. That is a once in a lifetime win. You won't see one like that any time soon.

2. Beating the Cowboys on opening night. The best part was seeing Jerry Jone's face when it was obvious the Texans would win.

3. The 2003 opening day upset of the Dolphins. That game was the type of games I expected more of from us.

4. Overcoming a big deficit to beat the meatballs in 2004 (what was it 18 points?).

5. Overcoming a big deficit in our OT loss to Minnesota. That showcased what I think Carr potentially can be. It showed some character too. Too bad we didn't pull it off.

1. When the Texans beat Dallas 19-10. "In 2002 the Cryboys 5 Superbowls and 99 cents can get you 2 tacos @ Jack in the Box."
2. DD as rookie of the year.
3. NEARLY beating the '03 SB Chumps. (should have won that game but we got burned on a bad call)
4. Beating the '03 SB Contenders (and should have been winners if it wasn't for the lousy return)
5. Overcoming all odds against the Titans in '04 (wish I could have seen all of that game)

super bowl chumps, this a team that has won three of the last four super bowls the right way, how are they chumps? i don't really like the pats but respect what they have done.

1) Beating the Cowboys
2) Beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh
3) Beating the Dolphins
4) David Carrs TD to beat the Jags (I was there)
5) Sweeping the Titans and Jags.
6) Winning two in a row for the first time in franchise history.

Remember when they went off of a bad call and Adam kicked the miracle 3 points? Different year I know but still. Haven't liked them the same since. I know it wasn't their fault for the call but they should have been gone.

now the problem with me is i have very little date perception...so if some of these are pre 2002 i apologize

1) rams-titans super bowl....titans reciever coming up one yard short as time expired....nothing made me and my dad happier than watching the traitor titans choke in about as painfull a way possible

2) peyton mannings record breaking touchdown pass- for him to overtake history like that and keep his composure enough to run a sucessfull 2 point conversion was impressive

3) mike vick and warrick dunn obliterating the rams in the playoffs- it was a thing of beauty to watch vick and dunn run for over 300 yards...i thought it was the falcons time

4) texans beat the giants- it was the first pro football game i ever attended, and i got to see the texans win with my dad there...sat in the bullpen and had a blast

5) demarcus faggins ice's the jags- 2nd texans game i ever got to see, texans come through again....battle red day will always have a place in my heart

That first win has to be tops and will probably remain #1 until that first playoff win, followed by first Super Bowl win.
