I'm going to assume we keep all our picks first of all.

round 1 Troy Williamson he might be the best player available left in the draft. would open up our offense. Of who might be left, might be the best prospect to be a multiple pro bowler.

round 2 Channing Crowder could be there for our second round pick, would help fill the hole sharper left. This is my one reach pick, someone always falls in a draft and i'm predicting with no real method that it will be Channing.

round 3a Logan Mankins a top guard prospect can help solidify the interior line where with weigart getting older and injuries could get alot of playing time. plus he gets to play with David Carr again.

round 3b Jovan Haye 6'2 284lb DE who ran the 40 in 4.75 could help add more depth to our d line, could be Walker replacement in a year or two. hasn't played in the 3-4 before so that could be a red flag.

round 4 Frank Gore the RB from miami would be a steal in the 4th round. with DD splitting time he wouldn't have to take a huge pounding early in his career which would give him more time to strengthen and adjust to the NFL.

rounds 5-7 best player available excluding kickers, punters and quarterbacks.




Funny enough if we do this we reunite a few sets of college teammates.

David Carr and Logan Mankins were both on the offense at Fresno state.

Troy Williamson and Dunta Robinson practicing against each other at South Carolina.

Frank Gore and Andre Johnson won a national title together at Miami.
 
I'm assuming you mean round 1 for Williamson, and I'm not sure he lasts until 13 at this point, but you're right, he may be the BPA at that point depending on who's left...I like the rest of your picks, though I think the fourth may be a little early for Gore...Just curious, but why does Jovan Haye's 40 time matter? Short shuttles are more important for DEs than 40s, since QBs don't drop back 40 yards...
 
just think he has more speed than the average 275 pounder which i think means he can more comfortably play at that weight and mantain it longer without the risk of injury. I think alot of undersized players beefed up and the extra bulk was too much to maintain and injuries ensued. Its impossible to determine but i think having a decent 40 time shows that the weight isn't going to impede him even if he puts on another 10 lbs. and i dont have his short shuttle time either.


i know 4th maybe early for Gore but he does have a decent upside and i do think another running back needs to be taken and he could end up being better than anyone else in the draft, he has the highest risk to reward ratio in the draft.
 
Replace Troy Williamson with Carlos Rogers
Replace Crowder with Baas or Terry (even though crowder there would be a steal)
Replace Mankins but just move him down to 4th round before Gore
Replace Mankins with Jerome Mathis
I like Jovan Haye so you can leave him
 
I prefer a WR in round 2. Out of Jerome Mathis or Vincent Jackson. I'd like to see us go OL or D period in round 1. Maybe even trade down and pick up a extra 2nd.

1. Travis Johnson has attitude problems and is a finesse DT that would get dominated in a 3-4...Jammal Brown only has RT potential, since he's never played LT before, and we're happy with Wade...

2a. 47 would be too high for a divsion II guy developmental guy with questionable hands...

2b. It's been said that Thurman has an extensive rap sheet, and I don't think Cass would take a guy like that, though I think he's a good ILB...

I like both of your other picks, though...
 
I would go like this:
1) Alex Barron - Like it or not we NEED a knockout LT, and to get the best one in the draft at 13 is a deal (maybe not a steal).
2) Crowder - Abso-freaking-lutely. I've been hoping no one takes him. He may need a year to get up to NFL speed, but he's a talent. Thurman wouuld be good if Crowder's gone. Either way I think we need OL/LB in rounds 1 and 2.
3a) Roscoe Parrish - may be gone sooner, but this is a dream draft, so shut up.
3b) Howard Bartell , CB,Howard - He may be a bit of a project, but he's got some serious upside and time to grow behind Glenn
4) Darren Sproles, RB, K-State, The most under-rated RB in the draft. Would have been a 2nd rounder if he left last year. Can return kicks.
5) Best OL/DB Available. I really don't know the prospects this deep, but we need some serious OL/DB depth.
6) Dustin Colquitt, P,Tennessee or Matt Payne, P/K, BYU - Colquitt is one of the best punters to come out of college in a few years and we could use an advantage in the field position department (especially the way we lack in the return game). Payne can punt and kick. He's got a boot, too. 4/5 from 50+ last year, but 3/6 from 20-39? huh.
7a) Maurice Clarett, he's dropped so far. We all know he can play some ball. He might be worth a 6th rounder, but we've already got enough "project" running backs. If he falls this far, I say we take a chance.
7b) Who cares, is he going to even make the team? Probably not. So whoever Casserly likes I'm cool with.
