In the past 36 hours, wide receiver Moritz Boehringer has become one of the hottest names in the 2016 NFL Draft. The 22-year old German wideout was virtually unknown before Wednesday, but reports that he would be working out at Florida Atlantic University's Pro Day on Thursday got his name out there, and we at Acme Packing Company took special note because the Green Bay Packers were mentioned as a team that has been researching him.

Now that his workout is complete, he is under the radar no longer.

Here is the summary of his Pro Day from Tony Pauline, via Walterfootball.com:

German receiver Moritz Wilhelm Boehringer put up Olympian-type of numbers. He measured 6044, 227 pounds, posted a vertical jump of 39 inches, a broad jump of 10-11, timed anywhere from 4.38 to 4.45 in the 40 while also running 4.09 in the short shuttle and 6.64 in the 3-cone. Wow!! I'm told he also looked good catching the ball.http://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2...hringer-pro-day-workout-jeff-janis-comparison

Heck of an athlete. Looks awfully raw as an actual wideout though.

Be fun to watch this play one out.

Clearly i wish my german buddy all the best, but i would be pretty surprised, if someone would spend a draft pick for him. Maybe he can stand out on a practice squad somewhere.

As the NFL Followers in Germany grew fast after the NFL was presented on free television last year, this would be awesome for the new and young fans to follow a german player. Maybe somewhone would choose his team because of him and not only because the team was in a superbowl over the last 2 years.

Don't get me wrong. I hope he becomes a star. But highlights are not good for getting context on drop rates.

Every time I hear of the amazing track athlete, I think of Bob Hayes and all the passes he dropped from Dandy Don.
I remember drooling over Jerome Mathis' world-class speed. It's a shame he never developed as a wide receiver. You still have to be able to catch the football. I'd rather have a slow wideout who can catch than a fast one who can't.
