I'm reading a lot of people dissatisfied with NFL team drafts not just the Texans alone as evidenced from Jaguar land and I've come to the conclusion that there needs to be a Mock Draft @ HoustonTexans.com. Only one lucky person can be the Texans GM and that distinct honor has to go to Vinny. After that on a first come first serve basis ( I'll take the Jags) until all 32 teams are signed up. We should start early & do one right away with only those eligible & declared soon after the bowls finish up, then still have time for a final tune-up before draft day after the combines have completed and all eligible prospects are known to all.

What say ye fellow draft geeks :bouncey: are ye game :heh:

This way you will have to feel the pain all year as GM of your team if you are the one making the mistakes or the glory for your teams triumphs as your rookies excell to become the CREAM OF THE CROP.

p.s. I would also suggest that its limited to three rounds for time constraints.
 
I'm up for it. I don't really care what team I am, but I'd like to go with the Saints since I think that's who I was on the HPF mock last year.

Is this the official sign-up for the mock draft? If so, give me the Dolphins. I'll take the Texans though if you are not up to it.

Ok guys, I will create a mock draft forum to host our annual multi-participant Mock draft sometime this weekend. texansfan88 and beerlover can manage this if you wish. I can set up the forum and the threads and give you editing powers in that specific forum if you would like to help run our 2005 version. I'm thinking we can do an early mock and then one right about combine time.

I will need some help with a top-10 prospect list at each draftable position, and will create pinned threads for announcements, picks, and one for the mock itself as it unfolds.
 
I got you covered on the top 10 by position, I knew all the prospect database for work would come in handy...let me know when/where you need it.
 
I will create the new forum as a sub-forum and you can start some top prospect lists, player research or whatever you feel will help the others with their picks. We will run with the slow-draft method and a 24-hr clock as in the past years. I'll have you all set up this weekend. Likely this evening.

Remember that the Bills don't have a first round pick. I think were doing a three round draft, but in case you want a first rounder you may want to change. New York Giants also don't have a first.

here is the transaction list of who has traded what picks to whom that should be valid for the first Mock Draft go around. Of course there will be more changes that affect the real draft come draft day but this should suffice for now-

2005

First Round

San Diego from NY Giants (QB Eli Manning)
Dallas from Buffalo (QB JP Losman)

Second Round

Philadelphia from Miami (QB AJ Feeley)
New Orleans from Washington (2004 draft day deal)
Green Bay from New Orleans (CB Mike McKenzie)

Third Round

when does the league usually tell us what additional picks will be handed out? not until after FA right?
 
by the way.. if it turns out we dont have enough people.. ill take a second team. Just give one to me, i dont care who.

Well if anyone wants the bills, which i doubt they do, they are the only team left.

I think someone should just double up with them.
 
I originally opted for the Bills before someone reminded me that they had no first round pick. I went with the Bengals instead, but since no one wants them I'll double up and take them along with the Bengals. If someone else does decide to take the Bills then I'd be happy to give them up.
