Mock w/ Schaub Trade, Mallet Trade, and a trade downn

Ok First..Matt Schaub, #1 overall and a 5th to the Browns...

They Get to pair Schaub with lil Shanny and Ben Tate...And they can take Clowney#1 overall...

They trade us both their 1st and a 4th

We flip that 4th and next years second rounder to NE for Mallett.

So the draft:

1) Khalil Mack, OLB

1) Luis Nix, NT

2) Kyle Van Noy, OLB

3) Lamarcus Joyner, DB

4) Juwan James, OT

5) Jerick McKinon, RB

6) Andrew Jackson, ILB

7) Tom Savage, QB

Draft is defense heavy, but I think overall that side of the ball needs most work.

I think you solidify the front of the defense for a few years. Defense gets an identity and defense gets a large boost.

The team gets what they hope is the Franchise QB and a young guy to develop in Savage. Will compete for a Roster spot with Keenum and Yates. Solid OT to compete with Brennan Williams at RT spot.

Replace Brice McCain with a better more versatile player.

Pick up a possible sleeper RB. Great athlete. Would be a great back up for Foster and eventual replacement.

Didn't hit on every hole, but I wanted to restock the defense with some of my favorite players in the draft. Go defense heavy and give ourselves a fighting chance in every game. With these picks, defense has a chance to be truly dominant.

wish Schaub had that pull. Mallet who knows but New England has a much better idea than we do so I would stay away from the hoodie. Mack is probably the 3rd positional player, maybe 4th behind, Watkins, Robinson, Matthews. QB, QB, QB but which one? not Schaub, not Mallet, not Case, not Yates, I would like to trade down to #4 & take which ever of the big three is left. just get it over with. like all your draft picks. really hitting OLB hard, like Seattle hitting secondary big with a big ol nose in the middle.

nice work :barman:

Don't think the Browns will do the trade.

Fixes the putrid LB corps for yrs to come.

Favorite S in this draft besides Clinton-Dix. He will be a great blitzer from the slot and will be a really good nickel CB.

James has already been discussed. Good pick

McKinnon don't know much about him. He really stood out at the combine.

Jackson- Anything that improves the LB corps is a good thing.

Savage- I've got him rated much higher than this.

Very nice mock.

I like it too... take away the extra 1st (Nix) & it's still a pretty strong draft.

This won't be a 2 or 3 year project if we can pull in a hall like that. Or even if we go heavy on the offensive side...... OT, OG, TE, WR, RB..... a lot of talent in this draft to "fix" one side of the ball

& most of the teams on our schedule have not finished over .500 in the last three years.

We might not be among the best teams in the league, but we don't have to throw away 2014.

I'm in this camp too. With picking up Fitzpatrick today, we don't go after Mallet, but I say we send Schaub to Browns with our #1 for their two 1st and and a 4th or 5th this year or higher next year pick. If we can get Mack, Nix, and Van Noy that would be a big time start to plugging up gaps in our D.
