Michael Vick rushing ypc is...

KSig44

Waterboy
6.9. David Carr is 4.8 (which to me is pretty darn good for Kubiaks system)

So what does that mean to me? Well, since the VY supporters say VY won't be the scrambler that Vick is but is more than Carr, he should fall right in the middle at around 5.8

5.8? A difference of 1 yard per carry? You want to waste the number 1 pick to better our QB's rushing by 1 yard per carry. Good God there is a lot of Charlie Casserly in that line of thinking.

FYI, Jake plaummer is a lifetime 4.4 ypc and John Elway is also a lifetime 4.4. Seems to me Carr is adequate enough in the mobility department to run Kubes system.

You can't reason statistics with a VY homer. They will comeback with "All Vince has done is Win" & "He is a leader." :blah:

Why have an adequate QB for the scheme when you can have a QB that could be great for the scheme? Vick maybe quicker and faster than VY, but VY has the vision and the knack for not taking a big hit unlike Vick or Carr. JMO

Comparing Vick's rushing average with Carr's is not very strong, since Vick runs about twice as much as Carr. Also Vick has close to three times the number of rushing TDs than Carr, and this is where I don't like your avenue of persuasion. The threat of making a touchdown when one of these guys runs. Vick is always a threat. Carr is more of a threat to get a first down. The whole point about Vick and Youngs running is that they could potentially score from nearly anywhere on the field. Case in point. Vick has 33 20+ yard runs compared to Carr's 5...that is the difference.

Oh and I am not a draft Vince nut.

Vick can usually outrun anyone in the open field, with the exception of Urlacher or Peppers. I don't see Vince outrunning everyone. He will be a good scrambling back, but I still like Vick. He does tend to try & jump over people instead of sliding & I do agree that VY knows when to go down & not take the big hit. But I still take Vick's arm over VY. Just my opinion.

A great QB is a 1 ypc difference that will cost me the first overall pick? You can keep him.

The reason I used Vick is because he is the top rushing QB. Your right, Vick runs more, hence the reason I didn't throw in TD numbers. I just wanted a comparison between Carr's 4.8 speed an Vicks 4.3 speed and that for a QB, the vast talent difference does not equate to much on the field in running. When both take off past the line, they are trying to get the most yards right? It's a valuable comparison.

Vick outruns pretty much everyone, but VY didn't get caught from behind at all in college.Vick has the stronger arm, but the general public believes that Vince is the better quarterback because of the accuracy. I think that he has the most upside over Carr, Leinart and Cutler since those are the guys everyone likes to compare.

Hey, VY fans say the same thing about Reggie. "He can't do in the NFL what he did in college"

But, as far as Vick vs Young, I am still sticking with Vick. If they would quit that West Coast garbage with Vick, he would exceed his potential.:twocents:
