Media is Ticked - go figure

I am noticing how so many "experts" are so very ticked off right now about the Texans picking Williams. Case in point from Len P of ESPN:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2426087

I guess these people forget who they are and who helps them in the end. Think the Texans are not hearing about how these types are bashing them? Chris Mort. is one of the only that is at least keeping his composure about the Texans' pick, I guess he is the smartest of them all.

Michael Irvin was completely bashing them last night.....but who cares what he says, he is just TJ, Boomer and Mort's court jester! He even dresses like one.

I heard Michael's comments last night and must agree that with you on him acting and looking like a court jester. It does not surprise me though as this man has disappointed me so many times over the years.

As for the other media, they must be loving the controversy this brings. I would be willing to bet that most are really saying "What a great move" inside while their lips are trying to sell advertisement.

B-I-N-G-O!!!!

Now more people will watch the draft and the pre-draft shows to see what the spin doctors say!! This is just like the other "Bush" debate!!

As Deion Sanders would say, "Must be the monaaaaay"!!

The media is pissed because they did not see this coming. Cracks me up. every year you see Mel Kiper backpeddle on how he totally missed a pick...now the entire media had it wrong LMAO!

Yeah they had it wrong. They didn't think anyone was actually stupid enough to pass on Bush. :ok:

Quite funny isn't that the Texans put one over on the press. They'd been saying that they were interested in Williams for a couple of weeks but the media thought that was the smokescreen.

I bet the Texans FO were mad at what the media was saying back then..."smoke & mirrors", "smoke screen to drive Bush's price tag down"....etc. Questioning one's integrity is a "no-no".

Stick it to those bastards! The media creates so much hype, it's unbelievable, I'm glad we stuck it too them, maybe next year all this stupid hype won't be so big.

It's going to be interesting to see how much air time ESPN gives Michael Smith, the only guy during the draft specials to say Houston would be better off picking Mario.

I love the hype and watching the "so called experts" in the media drown in their lack of knowledge...

I also love the opportunity to get that once in a decade defensive player. Guys like Too Tall and Selman only come around on rare occasion and MW could be of this caliber.

I gotta go get dressed for the "Draft Riot" hahahaha .... It is not everyday you can get this level of entertainent without paying for a ticket. Thanks Texans!!!!!!

Just ask yourself this, would they be exploding if the Patriots had taken Mario? I know the Pats have a great track record and we do not, but Mario is the same player. Sure they might have taken Bush, but my point is it depends on the team they are talking about. They might say that defense wins, and praise the Pats for bucking the trend and resisting temptation.

What I find the funniest is that tey were saying how going with Williams was just a tactic to lower the amount Reggie was asking for. They never thought the Texans were serious even though quite a few teams had Williams before Bush on the board.

Bush might be a bust, but ask yourselves how many of you have actually seen Mario Williams play. I'm in ACC country, so I've seen him for years and I can tell you that I laughed my *** when I heard that you drafted him #1 overall (then cried when I thought about Reggie Bush going to the Saints). He'll be a solid DE, but I can't see him consistently making the Pro Bowl.

This is the second big mistkake that ESPN has made in the last couple of months. They crowned USC champions before the game, and now the Texans don't pick Reggie Bush. They get things wrong, but they don't like it.

No doubt Texans86, ESPN does that and I cant stand to watch ESPN anymore. It is about Yanks, Red Sox, Bush, Kobe, and Lebron. Last week I watched the Highlights of our Astros Vs the Giants and I saw Bonds pop out four times? I never saw how we scored or anything, just Bonds popping out.

I hear you Goldeagle, the weight they place on certain things is disgusting to me at times. Why not give some attention to the young guys making a name for themselves? It's crap, to get real coverage you gotta watch local networks, and to get the info you really want you have to use the internet. Point well made eagle.

thank you. It just sucks that ESPN is the only thing out there. LOL I cant watch the crappiest darn sports show lol
