MAYBE....seriously..listen to the scenario

Dallas Frog
So you take Mario Williams. D-line is upgraded. Look what Palamalu did for Pitt. Denver is famous for taking backs later in the draft. There has been specualtion that the Texans might move up from the second round. Maybe D'Angelo or someone peeks the zone blocking offense more that Reggie. I'm not sure. I think DD is always a risk but Denver always did it with lower backs who could still get yards. There has to be a plan. Staying postive. I like the result. Just wish it had been a trade down.

Please stop the Vince Young crap. If they wanted Vince they would have drafted him. It is over, they didn't take him. Please, Please, Please move on.

Yeah I still think we need a back that can take it to the house, I don't care who just someone. DD is a good back and Morency will do well in this scheme but Adai is on my radar....and a tackle with Winston in his name.

Karl Malone errrr i mean Mailman don't get mad when we draft Vince with the NYJ pick.

I can see this as a trade pick but I really think they looked at what Pitt did and thought they could get by with a Kubiak upgrade and Moulds, etc. There are some lower backs that can take it to the house. Maybe they Bush is just being a beatch. Again, trying my hardest to stay positive.

so you would trade a player who can step on field and impact a game, for an underachieving QB who won't play for 2 years (hope you are joking). Houston Sports Beat said Greg Williams had to dump 1/2 playbook because Super Vince can't read coverages very well:brickwall

Not true..Zerlein and others said they talked to G. Williams just 2 days ago and said that VY read every read perfectly in one year. They said he was 28 of 28 in hot reads. Another urban myth you are spewing. I don't want VY but people need to be real.

If this was a trade pick, why fight to hammer out a deal? Wouldn't we just draft him, make the trade tomorrow, and let the other team worry about the contract?

Well, N.O. certainly expected Mario to be there when they drafted. Maybe now, we have put them in a position that they may be willing to give up something to get him. Since he is signed as the number 1 pick, if we were (hypothetically) to get N.O.s #2 pick, then whomever we pick would be at #2 money...

Mario being pre-signed does have some value in a trade scenario.

True. A contract without the official pick doesn't mean a thing. You havr to own the guy first. Of course it would be the best poker game ever.

amen! vince young would have made this team worse. he has never played a pro style offense. in college, only 1 read had to be made. thats not the case in the NFL. he had the best OL in NCAA last yr for the horns. in houston, we will have much less time to make more reads than last yr....and the wonderlic reflects on the ability of a player to quickly make good decisions.

I needed a good laugh tonight.

Vince is only a leader that makes his team want to lay it on the line to WIN the game.

The Texans need someone that can LEAD them.
VY is a WINNER

Answer me this....... If vince would in your words " made our team worse", and were are the LAST PLACE TEAM,

Why in the world would another team take him in the top 5 or 10?

O..... i forgot , you know something they don't.:ok:

well according to the front page of the website houston still has 3 picks on the 1st day. I would laugh if this happens reggie falls so low in the ranks and then it is our turn to pick again. Should we get him?

We better hope and pray New Orleans takes him or someone trades up for him, otherwise we'll be playing him twice a year when he hits the #3 spot for the Titans. At least the Saints are a NFC team so we won't see him but once every four years ... unless both teams manage a SuperBowl berth, of course.

The scary part is that I think he would waste away in NO. I just hope the Texans plan is to get another back later because I'm not sold on DD being the #1 back and us grinding it out again. I love Mario but am still stunned.
