Matthews' son commits A&M

That blood line is worth studying.

I am not familiar with Matthews as a player, but if he had an offer from all of those schools listed, chose A&M, and is a Matthews, then this should be an outstanding get for the Ags.

I'm surprised he didn't go with USC. I mean didn't the whole Matthews clan attend USC

Maybe he figured that places like USC, Texas, and Oklahoma would have more competition and he would not get as much playing time. Plus having his brother already there probably helped.

Sherman has done a stellar job with recruiting this year. It is unbelievable he is able to do this after the Ags just went 4-8. I mean so far the guys that committed consist of 3 top 20 offensive lineman including Jake Matthews, a top 10 LB in Corey Nelson, a good RB in Ben Malena, and a top 20 DT. Not bad for The Shermanator.

I also think that Sherman's OL background helped a lot. The guy is one of the most experienced OL guys in all of college football, so I would imagine that probably factored in. His brother attends A&M as well.

His brother attends A&M as well.

When the older brother attended Mini Camp (sideline visit) he told his dad he knew the line calls and the coaching points were the same he had been getting at ATM.

That goes a long way in a players mind. Also ATM was the only place that gave the older son a shot, and it's close for mom and dad. All these things go into a young guys choice.

I'm sure that played and his brother attending played a huge role in the decision. I'm not an A&M fan but a stronger A&M makes for a better BIG 12

If he's anything close to the player his Dad is, then this is a great get for us. Our OL last year was incredibly bad, and the recruiting Coach is getting done this year even with that dud season we put up last year just has me more and more excited for the coming years.

You're saying he attended Texans mini-camp and he thought this? That seems interesting to me.
