Blocking will, however, be one of his biggest obstacles along with route running. You shouldn't be worried about Jones blocking for someone else, someone else needs to be blocking for him.

At 6'6" and 240, he won't need many blocking skills as a WR. He can just get in the way of a DB and do better job blocking than 80% of WR's out there who don't even try!

I'd take him at #13 if we couldn't trade down or if we feel that a team will take him in the 20's. Its not like we haven't reached before (Babin, Wand, Hollings)!

Like I said before, I feel he could improve our pass protection. If we have AJ and Jones both able to break tackles and take it all the way to the house on any 5 yard reception, teams should be less likely to blitz Carr. I don't feel like you're able to get that threat as likely with Clayton, Williams, Gibson, etc.

This guy is such an unbelievable physical speciman he's reminisant of Brian
Urlacher. Urlacher was like 250-255 who WOWED everyone big time when he
ran a sub 4.6 at the combine. But Jones, at 240 and 6'6", ran sub 4.4 ! So
Jones's performance was even mote stunning given his physical dimensions.
But that's where the similarites end because Urlacher was already known to
be an outstand defensive football player with 2 years at LB and 2 years at
Safety and who knows how Jones would perform as a pass receiver over the period of a complete season? On the other hand Urbacher played at N.Mexico which means he hardly faced the type of opposition that Jones did at Arkansas in the SEC, which is atleast as good as any other conference in the country.
I dunno...I won't be surprised if this guy is selected in the first round.

I would just like to say as an Arkansan, and a watcher of all but 2 arkansas football games in the past 6 years, that Matt Jones is the best. Not getting him as a first round pick would be utterly stupid. Many NFL Scouts have showed 1st round interest in this guy. I've watched him pull the weight of our team for a very long time. He is without a the most memorable player from any sport I've ever watched. He is without a doubt a play maker, if you give this man the ball he is going to do something with it. The man averaged 7.35 yards per carry as a quaterback, and over 2500 total rushing yards as a quaterback. Need I say more? He has more talent than anyone realizes, this guy is gold, that's all I can say, and when he's in the NFL you will see this man on sportscenter a lot :p
