How long do you think it will take JFF to beat out Brian Hoyer for the starting job in Cleveland?

Round 1 QBs start, way more often than not.
I'd prefer Hoyer if I was a Brown's fan just because he has NFL experience.
You just had to dangle that VY option didn't you? :vincepalm:
So I clicked it.
YOLO
Couldn't vote... Where's the option "I don't care who wins what, both play for the Cleveland Browns".![]()

I forgot Vince Young was there too. Now if only The Browns trade Hoyer to the Texans for Keenum they'll have the axis of evil.
I don't expect him to begin the season as the starter as he's got some things to clean up mechanically and a few other things to work on .... How long it takes to polish those flaws I don't know , maybe its half a season , maybe the entire season but its obvious he's their QB of the future.
No reason to rush him into action with Hoyer on the roster.
I wonder how long it will be before Hoyer is on the trade block?
Because they're going to start Manziel & have Vince Young as their back up.....
I know it's the Browns, but c'mon....
I think VY can really show Manziel the ways of the sausage. Sort of like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, except with meat products instead of lightsabers.![]()
I'm still dumbfounded that people bought into this Manziel stuff hook, line, and sinker.
I realize that he's exciting and compelling. But I just don't see it at the next level. Seems like a lot of NFL teams agree with me.
CBS SportsPatriots coach Bill Belichick was asked about the situation on Friday night and issued the most Belichickian non-denial, denial that you'll ever read. In short, he doesn't confirm or deny if the 'Manziel Report' actually came from his team.
"With all due respect, I hate to admit this but I don't think I've been online in a couple days or weeks or whatever, so that's not really an important thing to me. I don't even know what's online and what isn't online," Belichick said. "But I would say we probably have, I can't even imagine, 10,000 pages of information. It's a lot of information. There's no way I can sit up here and tell you that I've read it all. I've read a fraction of it. But we have a ton of information on all the players that are in the draft. What's online, you should go talk to the geniuses that are online. I don't know. MyFace, YourFace, InstantFace. Go talk to whoever you want that does that stuff. I don't know."
So basically, the answer lies somewhere on MyFace, YourFace and InstantFace, we just have to find it.
Hoyer has a whopping 4 starts.
Johnny Manziel entered Cleveland drenched in celebrity and immediately became the most popular man on the team. His selection provided a suffering fan base with brief euphoria -- some went a bit loco.
The team, however, plans on reining in Johnny Football's expectations.
Owner Jimmy Haslam said Monday that the team told Manziel to act "like a backup quarterback," per ESPN.com.
"We were frank with (Manziel) on Friday that's the expectation, you're the backup quarterback," Haslam said while speaking at a Pro Football Hall of Fame luncheon in Canton, Ohio, per The Plain Dealer. "This is a hard-working, blue-collar town, this isn't Hollywood. We want you to come in and go to work."
The Browns open rookie minicamp Saturday, with organized team activities to follow next week. Haslam said the team plans to begin with Brian Hoyer as the starting quarterback.
"It's his job to lose," Haslam said of Hoyer.
Manziel's teammates said before the team's annual charity golf outing that the rookie wouldn't be automatically granted the job.
"I think good old Johnny Football is going to be a good addition to Cleveland," center Alex Mack said Monday. "Don't know who the starter is going to be, though."
That is the man snapping you the ball, Johnny.
"There's no handing over the job," tight end Jordan Cameron added.
At the end of the day, the players acknowledged that Manziel's off-field popularity is meaningless as long as the team wins.
