Ranked 30th overall on defense (23rd against the run; 27th vs. the pass). The Texans ran 118 times; passed 116. David Carr did not have a good preseason (23.0 passer rating; he might be hurt). He completed 44.1 percent of his passes with one touchdown against four interceptions. Domanick Davis looks like he will get a lot of carries and receptions. Opponents completed 67 percent of their passes for nine touchdowns and a 113.1 passer rating.

:hmmm:

I don't think injuries were getting him. His passes seemed "on target" they were just going to the wrong guy. Misreads in a new scheme. Not to mention the DBs have been sitting on the routes against Dallas and TB, so hopefully it will be mixed up enough when the real thing is happening.

What's hurting? His neck? I didn't see him look to anyone but his primary read in each of his picks. Yes they were quick hitters but Carr doesn't have a history of looking off defenders, so DB's are jumping his routes. If Carr can be a better actor out there and give confusing body language he should be able to work around this.

He's been bothered by a sore achilles for a couple of weeks now. Nothing that should make the injury report though.

:tv: Vinny thats funny . That type neck injury can't be fixed by a chiropractor.
With AJ, Mathis and Bradford we may win the NFL 3 x 100yd relay race , yet we won't go deep . I would think that sometimes you throw as far as you can on 1st down and see what happens .

Don't be suprised to see us do just that exactly!!! Let's take a look at our first games of the first two seasons. The first throw deep to Corey Bradford that drew a pass interference call and led to the first TD ever. Then the 24 yard strike to Gaffney across the middle in Miami to start the game.

I say this because Capers likes to play suprise ball in cases his team is not predicted to win. For the most part it can shell shock the other team much like I feel it did against Dallas and Miami. Gaining yards on a team that doesn't allow very many is a huge slap in the face and can take them out of the game mentally.

I am hoping for that myself. I just hope we do it a little more throughout the game, instead of just the opening play.

We are running a new offense.. one that is more about quickness than throwing it deep.

Week 1 hasnt even started and we are already ressurecting the old "Carr's secret injury" conspiracy? oi.

Maybe if he were injured, he'd be a better actor out there, lol. :)
