Our Division has STRONG QB Play and not the greatest of Defense play.

The Colts got better, the Jags are solid, and the Titans are clearly going the wrong way and might want to consider a defensive pick-up themselves.

After watching the Steelers tear up the Colts in a game that was made close by the officials. I'm even more happy to see us take M. Williams.

I was afraid Kubiak would falter and give in to his offensive thinking. He has won my respect by not taking the sexy pick but taking the FOOTBALL pick.

The game is won in the TRENCHES. Super Bowls are won with DEFENSE.

Yes you do when you've already got a good QB and a good RB. This isn't fantasy football. It's REAL football. And last time I heard, the fans don't vote on who the pick is going to be. Reliant Stadium will be filled on Sunday and the tickets will be bought. As far as if you don't care about the Texans, that's fine. Who do you think you are hurting? Besides, the Cowboys aren't all that great either. I'd much rather have Carr than Bledsoe.

If they can play the pass well enough in their transition from defensive end to linebacker during last year......they could be our outside linebackers and could provide a heck of a pass rush package. Or the coaches could use them to flip to a 3-4 defense in certain packages with Mario, S. Payne and Travis Johnson. With all of the talent including Robaire Smith, Anthony Weaver and ND Kalu on the defensive line, it should free up our linebackers and secondary to make some plays. Could be exciting and interested to see how our new D Coordinator does.......the next Belecek.

The Texans need to consetrate on Rebuilding. In two three years the Colts and Jaqs will be finished with there run. What goes up must come down. The Texans are down. Going up is harder. What the need to decide is if the want to act or React. They should ajust to the Teams in the Division they need to adjust for the Future. Switching back to the 4-3 is stupid. This will Eventually hurt them. The 3-4 is the future of the NFL. Passing is everything. Getting ahead and cruzing is the Key. Mario will help stay ahead he will not put them ahead. Reggie will help put them ahead and with running the ball to burn the clock will help them stay ahead. And with the 3-4 they would be able to more affectively stop the pass which is what you want the opposing team doing because they will be lossing the game at that point.

Good points about our division and going with a strong defensive pick. And I agree about giving Kubiak major props for making a great football pick. He was not swayed by public opinion, and understands that strong defenses are the major component of most championship teams.

Carr flashed some potential in 2004 but defenses started to realize all they had to do was double AJ and bring on the mad rush. Now there's Moulds on the other side which means opposing defenses are going to have to keep more guys in coverage. I still think should have traded down and taken D'brick, but if you've got to make the #1 pick Mario's the best bet.

minimizing turnovers on offense also wins games. good pass blocking = upright QB = keeps more drives alive = better field position = also wins games. that's why I think your team could have traded down, got dbrickshaw, more picks and filled in a huge problem area on your team. speaking of playing in the division. you have to have some o-linemen to keep freeney and robert mathis off of your QB. williams wasn't a bad pick... actually better than taking a rb, but it's a really bad PR move.

As a Jag fan, I can't help but laugh at some to the posts on this board.

First of all, defense wins championships. I think the pick was pretty good, though I would have thought they could have traded down and still got him.

As far as Carr, I think he is a good QB, but doesn't get a chance because he is always running for dear life or getting sacked.

Also, DD is a good running back, and is much better than Bush in my opinion.
