LOL, early super bowl odds

Wolf

100% Texan
boy they sure don't waste any time. and esp before the draft and FA period

Now that Super Bowl XLIV is nothing but a hangover and the NFL season is officially kaput, what are football fans to do?

How about look forward to next year?

Odds on who will win Super Bowl XLV have already been posted by bodog.com and you'll be glad to know the Seahawks are 45 to 1 to take it all next year.

The early oddsmakers aren't too confident that the Saints have a repeat in them, given New Orleans is tied for third on the list at 10 to 1 behind the Colts (6 1/2 to 1) and Chargers (8 to 1).

Houston Texans 35/1

Just hours after the conclusion of Super Bowl XLIV, Vegas released the odds on who is going to make it to the big show next season, I guess they couldn’t wait to collect more of the customers money after the biggest gambling event of the year.

Low and behold, the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay came in at………………..100-1 odds to win Super Bowl XLV. 100-1 thats all???? Vegas Insider has the Bucs listed at 125-1. The odds should be 100-1 if the Bucs make it to .500 next season. Seriously.Even with home games against Cleveland, Seattle, Detroit and St Louis, the Bucs struggle to see .500 in 2010.

Joining the Bucs at 100-1 are the franchise powerhouses of Cleveland, Detroit, St Louis, Kansas City and Buffalo. If you have such a debilitating gambling problem which would cause you to lay a hundred dollars on any of these 6 teams to win next year’s Super Bowl, check yourself into a clinic immediately. Before dropping a C note on the Bucs anticipating a payout, you’d most likely have better odds buying scratch off lotto tickets.

There are a few interesting opportunities though. Atlanta is 30-1. Houston Texans are 35-1, New York Jets 25-1 and Baltimore is 20-1. Dallas is 12-1 but remember the Super Bowl will be played in Arlington next season and no home team from the host city has ever advanced to the Big Game. The odds on favorite? None else than the Indianapolis Colts and the greatest quarterback of all time at 13-2 odds. Neither the Saints or Colts return next season.

This is almost as ridiculous as preseason top 25 lists made for college football the day after the championship game is played. So much can change between now and then that there is really no point in trying to calculate it at this point.

Great time to find value future wagers, though. The Saints were 20-1 to win the Super Bowl last February. At 35-1, the Texans are a good value play imo.

So If I bet 100 bucks and texans go to super bowl I could basically get my ticket to superbowl paid for pretty cool!
