Think Mike Singletary would take the job? After all, it looks like we are going "hometown good ol boy" on Defense.

He's not originally from Houston, but UH defensive coordinator Brian Stewart is the favorite for the DB coach gig. And he was the assistant DB coach for the Texans in 2002-2003.Oh why not? Got any hometown candidates for DB coach?
Then Singletary might consider a job with the UFL. Because no NFL team will be giving him the keys to their team anytime soon.i think its highly doubtful that a former HC would immediately demote himself to a linebacker coach, if anything he will take up a coordinator job or take a year off then find another HC or DC job
Oh why not? Got any hometown candidates for DB coach? As a matter of fact why don't we just make it an employment requirement from now on. At least we can blame the "home town heros" when the team continues the suckage.

To hell with it, why stop with football players. Could non football players be any worse than what we had this season?
How about some ex Astros or Rockets for Texan coaching positions? Bring Kelvin Cato in. He got a buttload of money from Houston for doing absolutely nothing...
YUP..... Lester Hayes!! Aaron Glenn, oh but the mother of all defensive backs for a coach.....
Wait for it...
Wait....
Darrell Green!!!!
Done! Game over!!!
How about letting the fans coach the D! On each play, a fan gets a mic to tell that player what to do: stick in man coverage, zone, blitz, drop back in coverage. Think how fun it will be when the entire Defense goes on constant blitzes!!!

Jerry Gray did a nice job in Seattle as a DB coach. Maybe he'd take a lateral move to his home state.

While not a native Houstonian, he is a Texan; how about Jerry Gray?
I think Jerry Gray has interviews here before, or was requested to and denied by his team at the time. He would could very well be a candidate if they put a serious list together for DC.
OR how about Craig Biggio? Football was always his first love coming out of high school. He could put
Some heart into the D.
