Let's remain R-A-T-I-O-N-A-L

we were 0-2 at beginning of last season and if we had controlled Favre a little better in 4th quarter we are an 8-8 team. so lets not run around like Chicken Little screaming the sky is falling, we know several teams that have made playoffs after going 0-2 so lets not throw baby out with bath water.
I think we will be ok we needed to make a change Palmer was so predictable anyone with a rudimentary understanding of football could have called run on 1 run on 2 throw on 3 punt on 4 which as I recall was our primary offense.

Don Criqui (who is lucky CBS keeps him) made an EXCELLENT point yesterday, why do Texans start moving ball and making things happen then suddenly abandon what was working and go back to what doesn't...I say we fired that problem today

Have you been watching the same team that I have been watching for the past 4 years?
Capers has final say over the game plan. He is TOO conservative to say the least. If for one minute you think the texans will win more than 4 games this season, please educate me on whom you think they are going to beat and why. Right now I don't even see them beating San Fran....

No we didnt...palmer was not the predictable conservative one. capers and cass have numerously pointed out the fact that capers selects whether the play is going to be a pass or a run. the reason that we would suddenly abandon something that worked was because of capers' overrules. expect us to only focus on things that dont work from here on out.

Capers wants to run the ball to control the game and play good defense. Like the Ravens. First problem is we dont have a power running back that can carrie the ball fourty times a game. The second problem is are defense Sucks. :brickwall :brickwall :brickwall

the sky is falling, the sky is falling!!! The Texans are pathetic right now, just how horrible would they have to play before you agree that the sky is falling?

RATIONAL checked out about 11 minutes into the Buffalo game and hasn't been seen on this board since then. I'm actually starting to think that maybe we should try to put a picture of RATIONALs face on a milk carton or something. Maybe he'll turn up.

To borrow a line from Jack Nicholson, "Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here."

Here we go with the "I'm a real fan, and you're not" diatribe.

I'm not advocating giving up on this team. No way, Jose. This team, sooner or later, will fire Capers and get moving in the REAL direction it should. It's a matter of time. And when it comes, you'll see less of the angry comments that you're not liking right now.

Just STOP trying to "wish" a turn-around for this team. This team pulling a win out of its rear is the absolutley WORST thing that could happen. I know that sounds sick of me to say that, I know it does. But listen to me: Anything that causes McNair to think that it was "Just Chris Palmer" and now everything is OK....is the same thinking by some on this board when they said, "It's JUST the preseason! Don't worry 'bout it! Hakuna Matata!"

I think your silver-lining approach, and "chicken little...sky is falling" comments are you trying to pit yourself as somebody who is smarter than everyone else in the room. As if we should all just have a bell go off in our head at your pep rally remarks, and think, "Oh, gee. He's right! We're going to the playoffs."

Show some sort of objectivity. That's all I am asking right now of most people who are bashing posters like me, accusing us of being sick and twisted and wanting to see this team get defeated.

Yes, in one sense I DO want us to lose. I want us to lose to the point that McNair cleans house, even if it means firing Casserly, too. I don't know what I am most upset with right now: Carr's happy feet, Buchanon's dance of the matador, AJ's butter fingers, drive-killing penalties on offense, drive-sustaining penalties on defense, our special teams needing oxygen from running more than our offense and defense combined, Palmer, Capers, Joppru, Hollings, Swinton, Sloan Thomas, on and on and on.

So, I think it's OK to say, "YES! The sky isn't falling. It fell last year when we played Cleveland and lost big time at the end of the year...at home."

Since then, it's been a non-stop "DOn't worry! Be happy!" fest propagated by the Texans P.R. Dept. and willing homers on this board who blindly beat to death anybody that dared to say there are some red flags that need to be addressed. "Oh, no no no no no! Everything is jussssssssst right. Have faith."

You know how they cook lobsters? They slowwwwwwwwwly turn up the heat over a long period of time so that the Lobster doesn't notice he's getting boiled to death. That's kinda' what it feels like to most fans right now. We're just now seeing that things were wrong for a long time. And those that tried to warn of it were torched and branded a "traitor". Period.

I don't mean it personally against you, just please see where some of the anger is coming from. Put down the pom-poms, just for a day, and ask yourself if maybe us losing would maybe speed up the healing process a little bit. For me, a win here and there just puts McNair back to sleep for the rest of this year, and maybe even the next.

I think the most important thing that McNair can do is hold Casserly accountable by however he measures success or in this case improvment. We cannot afford Cass to wheel and deal or take flyers in the upcoming draft or during free agency. Yes he has had some success with late rounders. We can no longer hope that we stole someone in the 5th or the 6th. We need players who can perform now and who want to perform in Houston. Keep it simple stupid.

By the way, why did we spend so much money on a QB and bring in one of the architects of the run and shoot when all you want to do is run to set up a the play action pass? Someone should be fired immediatley if the same person made that decision.

We are firing coaches two weeks into the season. Carr is screaming at the line on the field, and fans are passing out in the stands.

What do you consider a falling sky?

If the chicklen littles are out, then the Hommers have their heads so far up their behinds it's no wonder they can't see what's going on here!
