Let me just say this...

GP

Go Texans!
The moves we've made thus far in free agency, as well as in letting certain players go, has put us in what I believe is a better position RIGHT NOW than any previous offseason altogether.

And we could still land a veteran C and hopefully a true number 2 WR...

And we still have the draft to go (with GREAT draft position, as well)...

And the Cowboys just inherited a train wreck waiting to happen...

I have a feeling that Center may be the only offensive position that we go after until the draft when we will get Reggie.

And if you can steal Flanigan from GB, that would be your general on Offense. We have Kreutz and I like Flanigan almost as much.

not only will you have a great probowl center, you will be able to move the other one to guard.

Thus filling 2 spots with one acquisition.

I am just reading the tea leaves, but you might be right.

We got rid of Bradford AND Gaffney...meaning that Kubiak felt neither was a true number 2 WR for us. It's leaving a void at number 2 that I think is going to get filled by a true number 2 WR out there.

We picked up Walters and only gave up a 7th round pick, which I believe is what he was originally drafted at a few years back...so I'm not sure that Kubiak has his eyes on Walters as our number 2 WR based on what I'm seeing.

I think Walters can compete for the number 2 slot...but I really anticipate us making a move on a free agent number 2 receiver. Burleson and/or Walker is that guy, to me. Look at it: We ENTERTAINED Givens who is commanding number 2 dollars, so I think we passed on Givens when his price was too steep and we knew there were a few more number 2 guys out there.

Burleson isn't coming here. The Texans aren't interested in him anymore. Walker will have to be traded to come here and I don't see us giving up a lot to get a guy who has issues with Sherman, is coming off of an injury, wants to be the go to guy on a team, and wants to be paid a lot of money. We will probably go after a WR in the draft or sign someone who gets cut after the June 1st cut date.

The Texans cancelled the Burleson visit just after the Bengals announced they were not going to match Kevin's contract, thus giving Kevin to the Texans.

They did say they were going to still meet with a couple more FAs, now does that mean WR, C, TE (Oh wait that is a done deal now), DT, LB, etc. Not sure.

I would not give GB more than a 4th because as high as you are picking that is really a 3rd. He had one great year and that was not because of him. that was because Favre was throwing to him. I beleive in Karma and with all the BS Walker pulled he got hurt at the beginning of the season and out for the season so how can anyone justify paying him that much when he is unproven, attitude sucks, not TEAM player, and does not care about the fans. Not to mention you hav enot even seen him run or take a hit since the injury.

Come on now!!! yall are not that neive are you!!!

I see us drafting BPA with our first pick, but I am not sure we will go WR with our next few picks. Just got a hunch on it.

I think our depth in the defensive backfield needs to be addressed, and I wouldn't put it past us to go LB with our second pick if a guy is there that's right.

I'm seeing the offense getting taken cared of in free agency with Cook, Putzier, and hopefully Flanagan...thus we can focus on defensive backfield which has been a sore spot due to injuries.

But you're probably right about Burleson and Walker.

If Cromartie lasts to 33 I think we should pick him up. He has the potential to be a big time CB, and with his size and speed he will frustrate the big WRs of the league.

I agree, I really like how things are going. More and more, I really am starting to think that we are going to draft Bush. I have always wanted a trade down scenario, but I could live with the Bush pick.

I think we might go after a MLB as well via Free agency. Try to fill as many needs via free agency so that you can build in the draft. My opinion.

Me as well, but you never know. They could throw us all for a loop and pick Mario Williams as the overall number one pick. Which wouldn't upset me at all as well.

I think it is because the coaches have a plan and are executing it.

I'm enjoying how the board's anticipation and expectations are rising as the various pieces of the plan are revealed. After a couple free agent signings there were questions by many; after another couple of signings more people start to think that they are seeing the outline of the plan; and finally a list of FAs we have visiting the facility clarifies the plan for many more.

I think the coaches are demonstrating that they have the vision to fix this team; we now get to watch them try to implement that vision.

Agreed, and like GP I am also more pumped this offseason than any other offseason. We have a new set of coaches with real backgrounds in getting an offense into high gear, a guy with a rep on getting all he can from a QB, REAL offensive line coaches, with a real philosphy. That's exciting in itself. Now, we add Reggie Bush, a REAL TE, some help on the line, and we have us an offense. We may have a hole at WR#2, but that remains to be seen.

On defense, we have added a run stuffer at strongside DE, and are looking to add a MLB. We will add youth via the draft, but I suspect there may be some growing pains this year. Still, with a better, less complicated scheme, and better coaching, this unit has nowhere to go but up.

Then the Special teams truly have a chance to be special as well.

I am pumped. Let's get this season rolling. :yahoo:

Either way we go we are going to get a good player with our first pick. Theres really no way we can bust on this one unless our 1st rounder gets injured. As for the FA's I see us pickin up a WR before the FA is over. A number 2 hopefully or maybe a 3 to compete for 2 with Kevin Walters. As for OL i hope we can grab one out of the FA if not more. Defensively we need to look at the draft.

With Charley Casserley as GM, that is not saying much.

this team will compete. I just want to wait and yell it louder after I secure a couple of tickets for the season.
