Ladies and Gentelmen..This is the Final Game.

Well, this is it...kinda sad isn't it?
Yes, and no...because we could go out with a bang.

Yes ladies and gentelmen...our first non-losing season. Sounds kinda good, doesn't it?

The team was fun to watch this year, despite some rollercoaster times. Its almost like watching a baby grow up...crawling, standing, falling, standing, walking...and hopefully in 05'...starting to run.

Season game balls go to:
*Dunta Robinson: Getting burned in week 1, to playing like the pro-bowl cornerback I consider him to be...and the Defensive Rookie of the Year he will be.
*Domanick Davis: Known to many in week 3 talks as "Mr. Fumbalitis". Those costly mistakes is a good test to any runningback. Sure, it took him time to get his confidence back...but wow. The offensive line's zone-blocking scheme is starting to come around..and he is making some of the best defenses look like swiss cheese.
*David Carr: The 3rd year is supposed to be the make or break year for the quarterback. I for one, consider this year a make for David. Now can you imagine what he could do with more time to throw?
*Andre: We all knew he would get to the pro-bowl sometime...and that day has come sooner than later. He's cured his "pan hands" in the offseason with hard work and practice. And now defenses are adjusting to contain him.
*Antwaan Peek: Kinda reminds me of Jevon Kearse..but standing up. I have a feeling he's gonna be scaring quarterbacks throughout the leauge.
*Jason Simmons: Wow. The hardest hitter on the team is a saftey? Ask Barry Simms. I never thought I would see a 6-7 330lb guy go airborne..in the wrong direction.
*Charley Casserly: For finding diamonds amongst pearls.

And last but not least..my fellow fans.
It seems like the Dallas pre-season game was just the other week. It'll be sad to have the last one on Sunday. Man, how time flies when you're having fun.

So cheers to everyone that made this season special in their own way to the Texans, and Houston itself.
Lets make this last game fun, LOUD, and crazy...and let our Texans know we'll be waiting for them in 05!

Tears... seriously this season flew by. Its ok though. Soon the draft will be here then, summer, training camp, then soon enough, we'll be ready for next season. Don't forget we have arena football (just playin). Man, lets put a whoopin on the browns. Seriously like 49-3 or something.

At least after football season I'll have NASCAR again. Seriously, can you imagine what this team will do with another year under our belt and one more draft. I already cannot wait for next season. :bouncey:

Dude, you forgot the cheerleaders!

btw, Is this board dead during the off season?

I am going to harass the Jags all off season. Should be a ton of fun, they have nothing to respond with, at least anything that makes sense.

Im pretty good in the graphics department. Maybe I'll spend the off season making football smilies or something. I think I'll start with a Texan smily bashing a cat with a really big stick.

Anyone else notice that the team is finishing strong again this season.

Seriously, in 2002 the Texans stumbled out of their first year. They were game up to the end but you could see that the season had been a real test for them. We didn't have the horses that year. Then in 2003 they had all those injuries but in the last couple of weeks they really started bringing it. They played their last two against the Colts and Titans as tough as you could ask and lost them both in close games. Again they didn't have the players to win those games. This year they're closing strong again and maybe it's just a combination of bad opponents at the right time but they look like they might just wrap this one up at 8-8.

I like this hint of a trend I see with the Texans. They seem to start putting it all together right about the time the playoffs get here. Maybe next year with one more year to bring it all together they can carry this late season momentum into a postseason game.

Yeah... Yeah..., but doesn't it feel good to know that now they know what to do that much better and to see that even the subs can get it done just as well as the starters have? Now take that along with the draft and free agency to make it happen... that's tough! We won't even have to rely on a one man gift to make a differnce. We just have to go into "weapons training", Oh hell yeah! :soldier:

It isn't really dead around here. We pretty much start the speculating as soon as it is over and watch how things change from there.

Astros >> Twins :P

But man...great season...I mean, anytime I can yell at home at the top of my lungs for the Texans doing great things, and I can do it for 10 games, its ALL good.

This year was all about us making strides, and we did that. Of course it was a couple times where we called for someone's head, but I think most or all of us went overboard. :thud: Like the Texans,we learned from our mistakes, lol.

I'll be at the game Sunday, yellin like its a week 7 game, not week 17. Hopefully every1 can do their part in helping the Texans to a 8-8 record. LETS GO TEXANS!!!

Yes, it is sad that our team will stop playing after this next game. However, we have so much to be thankful for and what a ride they have given us. I can't wait until opening day 2005. Joy in H-town! The Texans have such a great fan base and it keeps getting better and better. Go Texans!!!
:coolb:

Just a quick question.
If one were to make new smilies, who would it have to be sent to for it's approval for it to be added to the current smilies list?

When an article comes about on say...cnnsi...about the Texans, the board goes crazy. Then it dies until the next article to surface somewhere two weeks after that.

There are a lot of very interesting topics to talk about in the offseason...like "Which Texans player has the coolest name?"

I have to think about that one, but coolest NFL name to me is Quentin Jammer. I like! :)

Slaughter who played with the Bengals 2 years ago.

Wait...we need to stop...now we are ruining it for the offseason.

Jammer is ok but nothing will ever beat the coolest football name ever.

Former Washington Husky, Sonny Sixkiller.

To take this thread completely off-topic--how about the worst name ever?--NASCAR driver Richard Trickle, and yes he used the common abreviation for his 1st name.

1st runner up is a guy here in town that named his son Harold Roach--now what is that going to become?

A good thread 84! I can guarantee you I will be there Sunday and will start immediately getting ready for next year. PAYING FOR SEASON TICKETS! :hairpull: lol We have a team to be very proud of and our fan base in growing by leaps and bounds. The TEXANS are on the road to greatness, no doubt about that! We just gotta BELIEVE!!

Truthfully, I like reading the board during the off season. The draft discussions are great, and you guys do a fantastic job of keeping those of us, who don't watch college football that much, informed as to who is the best of the picks. We have free agency, players contracts, stats, the draft, mini camp, training camp, injury reports, and all kinds of good topics to keep us entertained during the dry spell. Just keep up the good work. I can't wait until the draft discussions really start kicking in. Those really got HEATED up last year! Lot's of fun reading! :heh:

Also Would Like To Add A Game Ball To The List To Rookie Jason Babin The Next Zach Thomas But Better Hes Good And Getting Better At A New Position Go Texans And Happy New Year 2006 The Year Of The Texans
