'NFL pass rusher Mario Williams today
is donating 5 Dodge Chargers to the
Houston police dept's Traffic
Enforcement division. #HouNews

Good to know he still cares about the community.

'eh, give or take 150,000 people.

Pearland is just an incorporated suburb of Houston.

Whatever the reason donating 5 cars to HPD ain't a bad thing. Rather nice gesture by Mario even if it is a tax write-off as Mario can easily donate the cars or money elsewhere.

Why is everybody still so snippy with Williams ? He got a chance to make a lot of money (again), and went with the deal in Buffalo. In the meantime he still apparently lives in Houston in the offseason and/or still has sentiments about the city and made a significant and very valuable contribution to that city.
Congrats Mario on being a good citizen - all Houstonians should be grateful for your generosity.

Kudos to Williams for this. He's not a bad guy so I have no issues with him moving on to Buffalo especially after that ridiculous contract they gave him. He probably still has a place here because...well....it's freaking Buffalo! He has a few charity organizations and was a giver to the community here so I will always prop that. It's the kind of stuff we don't always find in the news.

Agree. As long as they give back something it's always good, whether it's for PR or not.

If Mario wouldn't have foot the bill for those patrol cars, sooner or later the tax payers of Houston would have been stuck with the bill. He didnt have to donate anything. And I'm pretty sure this won't be the last we hear of his donations. Just my :twocents:
