Kubiak Contract Leaked?

It just dawned on me that Mark Berman on Fox26 hasn't said anything what the Texans are doing with their pick. He's the super reporter that has rock solid souces. Has anyone heard anything from the Mark Berman camp?

Good pick up on the KHOU11 byte. Does any of us watch the news anymore or are we all out drinkin'. Seems to me that someone would've caught this last night. We suck guys. Maybe Kubiak can turn us around too.

Wouldn't Kubiak be worth more than $1.5 mil/year if he's the comes out of the playoffs as the OC for the Super Bowl champs? I think Gregg Williams makes over a $million more a year to coach the Skins defense.

That's a lot of money to be sure, but isn't that on the lower end of current NFL head coaches? I hope that he doesn't cheap out on the assistants like last time, or he hasn't learned a thing.:brickwall

He's got HC experience and it is perceived that he will take over as HC either after the 07 or 06 season

To clarify, Giff said between $1.5 and $2 million. If it is $2 million, it moves him up a few rungs of the salary ladder.

Excellent point. I hope we learn from skimping last time on the assistants. These are the operations guys who are in the trenches with the players. Pay them well. Kubiak alone, as good as he may be, will not be able to make the systemic changes that are needed with a get what you pay for staff.

I dont think we will have to worry about that. There is a thread somewhere where it talked about how McNair said that whoever the coach wanted, he would get. No price was too high.

I read that too somewhere that he would get anybody he wanted no matter what the price was I think it was Justice on the chronicle not sure though?

Justice calls Casserly out in his blog yesterday for leaking to the media and then this news comes out one day later.....I'm starting to think that this guy is a total jerk ASIDE from being the liabilty we already figured that he was.

You just gotta wonder why it took four complete years of Capers to get to the point that McNair says he'll spend whatever it takes.

Common sense dictates you don't wait four hours to call the fire department about your house being on fire.

Thanks for four years of football on the cheap......

I was thinking the same thing watching sportscenter this sunday...

They were talking about reggie bush goin first overall because Mcnair promised that... Then he said however Mcnair has promised Kubiak that he would have the choice of drating who he wanted...

I looked everywhere yesterday with no news of Kubiak signing,...

Wow leaks are springing up everywhere!

It seems like it should be at least $2 mill. There was another report (leak?) a week ago that McNair authorized spending $1 mill or more on coordinators and position coaches. Surely Kubiak would be making more than only a few $100k more than his assistants.

Kubiak will not be signed until the Broncos are out of the playoffs (he's still in contract with them, but has was granted permission to "talk" to the Texans).

He has not been officially signed, this is all about the speculation over what probable contract the Texans have worked out with Kubiak - which Kubiak will sign following the Broncos elimination.

someone...call the plumbers!

well i would assume that the contract has already been written up and its just waiting for kubes to sign on the dotted line. im guessing someone could have read it idonno:
