is a guy I bet Kubiak would want to bring in on a two year deal if he ends up getting cut.

It is similar to Matt Leinart being brought in after he failed to reach his potential and Kubiak kicked the tires on him. He also seems to fit this system well.

Since we all know the Texans publicly have their quarterback this could be a low risk high reward signing for us.

Schaub/Kolb/Yates would be a nice trio to bring into camp and if Schaub falters the coaching staff would of gotten their hands on Kolb and Yates would be in his third year now so they might actually make a switch in season if needed.

Thoughts?
 
Eh..as a fellow Coog it pains me to say that Kolb is damaged goods. In addition to not being able to stay healthy he makes terrible decisions. We've got enough of that with Schaubie. I'd rather us just pick up someone that has the potential to be a starter for us in the draft. This is the draft to do that in since noone is really standing out at the Qb spot.
 
Kolb is a QB that Gary could rehabilitate, but I think he'd have to replace our #2 as the coaches were pretty solidly behind Keenum. My understanding is Keenum arm is better than TJ's.

Not seeing room for Kolb here, unless he's out of the league otherwise and comes in as a #4. That's unlikely with teams like Buffalo out there.

I'm not against it, but if Yates takes a back seat to Kolb, might as well ditch him & continue grooming Keenum. We don't need a stable of back-up QBs, we need a potential starter behind Schaub. If they think Yates is that potential starter, there's no reason to kick the tires on Kolb.
 
I'd rather have Fitzpatrick than Kolb.

Fitz is a better QB than what he was in Buffalo. He had nothing to work with there. Inconsistency at RB, WR, TE, OL, bad system and poor coaching.

I'd take him over Yates.
 
Why is it every guy that has ever played QB in Texas is automatically a guy Kubiak would like. This in state love affair between posters and QBs has got to stop. Just because a guy doesn't play in Texas doesn't mean he's horrible.

If Kolb gets cut and If Kubiak has any interest in him then I'm sure he'll bring him in to kick the tires and talk to him. Whatever he decides after that I'm fine with. To me Kolb was potential and now is probably broken beyond repair whether that's from coaching "neglect" in Philadelphia and Arizona or simply being in over his head at this level. I don't think it matters. If Kubiak thinks he's done then that's it. If Kubiak thinks he's got value and wants him then the Texans will make him an offer.

That's what I was thinking as well. IF Kubiak decides he wants a new backup QB, I'd rather take Fitzpatrick over Kolb. I don't think Kolb is bad, but I imagine he has David Carr-syndrome after the beating he took behind his o-line in Arizona. Plus, Fitzpatrick is just better.

I remember Kubiak liking Kolb a bunch during the pre-draft stuff then we traded for Schaub.

Kolb has the look of someone who can really fit into this system. Low risk/high reward.

I could care less where he went to school
 
He's supposed to be let go today after restructuring talks failed. Dude made 20.5 million while with the Cards. lol damn!

If Kolb can't run the Face To Butt play as good as Sanchez did in that one game last year vs Patriots, he's not taking over the starter duties whatsoever.

Jets gots standards y'all.
