Kevin Everett-TE

Thoughts on Kevin Everett? Would he be a good 2nd rnd pick or would we rather go o-line or RB here? Miami is putting out some good TE's, but they seem to be injury prone.

Kevin Everett would be a good 2nd round pick, while he may not be in the class of other miami TEs like shockey, winslow, or franks. He could be like what Randy McMichael is for the dolphins.

i think we can wait. a lot of miami fans think that he won't go until the third because the guy just can't catch, he fights the ball. but then again he could go higher because he is an athlete, probably the most athletic out of all the miami tight ends.

Remeber AJ didn't have the best hands coming out of Miami, either. Bottom line we just need an athlete who can block and stretch the field. We can live with him improving his hands for a year as long as he makes some big plays and can block. He could help open up the outside of the field by being able to get in the seam in the middle. I would like to see this guy in a Texans uniform. I'd also like to see a good young lineman and power runner. And hopefully a great o-lineman via FA

Yeah at this point I think he will be there in Rd.3 but I have a feeling he will put up great stats at the combine and his stock will rise and become a possible Rd.2 or late Rd.1. Now teams are looking for a TE that can stretch the field and keep the deense honest, it's invailable these days. There was Shockey, Winslow and now possibly Everette and lets not forget about Winston who made the switch to T but was recruited as a TE... Geeze, what is Miami turning into TE U?

i know that but andre could catch ten times better than kevin. andre still made plays inspite of his catching. kevin doesn't have the chance because he can't get the ball. also the fact that he was hurt some this season will hurt his stock. it all depends on what he runs at the combine and pro day, probably in the 4.5's which will probably put him in the second. wags can correct me, but watson wasn't the best te but he was a physical freak, 4.5 and a 500 lb bench and went in the first so who knows. yeah miami is turning into te u, look out for greg olsen and they just took dajleon farr out of north shore, the #1 te in the country, from lsu.

unless we draft him in the 2nd, we won't have a shot a him since this years TE class is so thin. But there are other players worth a look. Like Alex Smith from Stanford, Joel Dreesssen from Colorado St, and one of the, if the the best blocking TE in the draft Alex Holmes from USC. This guy is huge at 6'3", 270 lbs and decent speed with a 4.75 forty.

Just what we need--another TE that is hurt all the time. You said Miami is becoming TE U........not only that but TE with a Big Mouth U. I don't know much about this Everrett kid, but if he is another guy with a big mouth, just forget about it. I don't want a guy coming in as maybe a 3rd rounder and wanting 2nd rounder money and then holding out.

Is Alex Holmes #86 for USC? If he is he could be a steal. Did you see that one handed touchdown catch he made? You talk about a TE having some hands......and if he can block like you say you can then how come this guy ain't being talked about more? I'm not good with names, but I watched a lot of USC games this year and #86, if it is Holmes, was Leinhart's primary receiver early in the year while Steve Smith was hurt and Jarrett hadn't come on yet and he showed leadership during that period which I like. Maybe we can get him with are 2nd 3rd round pick and he could be a steal.

alex holmes is #81, Dominique Byrd is #86. he was the one that made the td catch. Byrd is a Junior.

i might have exaggerated when i said kevin was hurt for most of the year, its just he didn't do that much because greg olsen stepped in and took away from everett's plays. i do know that he was hurt for the gator bowl.

There seems to be a lot of guys with the athletic ability, the power forwards that were just a little too short to make it to the NBA. The question is if they can be developed to run the routes and catch the ball. Those two shouldn't be that difficult since they should have pretty good hands playing basketball. The hardest thing I guess would be teaching them to block, but the inside game of basketball is pretty physical so they shouldn't be afraid of contact. Did Rashod Kent ever make it on a roster anywhere?

Watson is the poster boy for workout warriors. He benched 600 lbs his senior year at Georgia, breaking the UGA record. I don't remember exactly, but I think he ran 4.5 at the combine. Also he did 34 reps of 225 at the combine. He was definitely drafted based on potential and physical prowess, because he didn't put up first round numbers at Georgia.

I actually wouldnt mind a big mouth on the offensive side of the ball. I love how AJ carries himself but I wish we could get some attitude on that side of the ball.

I loved it when he slammed the Chargers safety when he got into his face. Wouldn't mind seeing a little more intensity and fire likethat.

i loved to, it's just getting some swagger. what he showed that he isn't scared of anyone. we need some of that, the feeling that no matter what the other team does they aren't going to win. people tend to think that that type of attitude will lead to a moss and to mentality, but it isn't the same thing. you can talk a little if you can back it up. but lately none of those miami tes have done anything to back it up.
