Keep Carr and draft VY?

Texas

Veteran
Now I know this seems very stupid to alot of you but in the past I have heard VY can catch...Now with his speed power arm size and ability to catch...We could draft him and use him as a #2 quarterback and a receiving tight end seeing we dont have one or a #2 WR...I mean then in the event that carr does suck it up this year...We still have VY who could make a possible impact as a WR or TE on our team and if not we still know we have a great backup to cover for DC on bad days and then if DC proves people wrong and does really well then VY can be a big trade value for us next year. I mean to me it makes since...We could take the most athletic man around and use him as a #2 in WR or QB and then test DC to see if we can trust him or trade him and then put VY as #1 QB...Just a thought!

Sorry bro. I would love to do it but two things. you don't risk the future of your franchise and second it allows for a really bad response from the crowd if Carr messes up.

I will keep Carr he is good but have a terrible O-Line! He really have no time to throw:twocents:

Daaang we got cats from the Islands checkin out the Texans? That's too real. Now, all we got to do is find a way to avoid extra-continental embarrassment...

What if Carr threw it to him and Vince was missing them? He doesn't want to play receiver? If he couldn't make the transition( I Know he is :superman: and all but) then we would either be forced to play him as second string QB or trade Carr. If they pick Young it is to start from scratch. QB controversies don't help your team. :brickwall

I don't think this draft Vince as a tight end business is in the slightest bit interesting, but those of you who don't quite get it should know this:

WE ALREADY HAVE A QUARTERBACK CONTROVERSY

The controversy is why are we paying this do-nothing QB MVP money after 4 years of poor performance at least HALF OF WHICH is his own personal fault? Acutally, I think it's more like 3/4s his fault, but I'm trying to be generous and even-handed so all the Carr-boys won't jump to his defense with the same old tired litany of excuses. To my eye, either of the other QBs on the team would have done as well or better than Carr under the same set of circumstances for the last four years.

:challenge QB controversies don't help your team ONLY if you have an undisputed superstar QB. But then again, that wouldn't be a controversy would it?

If the backup comes in a plays better than the starter, then you helped your team and you now have a new starter. The only way that it wouldn't help the team is if the backup plays worse.

So in general, I disagree. They do help your team...b/c if there is a doubt as to whether or not the best player is on the field, you have a problem and someone else needs a shot anyway.

The only reason there is any controversy at all is because of people like you.

I looked at your previous threads started and can you guess what I found.
Every single thread you have ever started was about Carr being terrible or trading Carr or drafting VY or Bush being overated or VY be underated or the new coaching staff not realizing that Carr was the problem.

Also you saying the Carr boys use the same old tired litany of exuses just cracks me up because the only thing you are saying is that Carr sucks. That proves nothing.

How about you bring up the fact that AJ got paid around $7,000,000 last year and couldnt even catch the ball.

Or

Todd Wade being paid around 5 million I dont think I need to tell you how he played. Steve McKinney almost 5 million.

David Carr is not the only overpaid underachieving player on this team so stop acting like he is.

NO WAY will the Texans pay that kind of money for a TE/QB!! Besides, with the contract they will have to give a #1 pick, they would never be able to trade him after one year!! It's all about the bucks, and that's why your senerio will never work. JMO!:)

The backup doesnt necessarily have to be better than the starter to improve the team. Some people just need to be pushed to make them better for example drew brees. The only real problem is the cap.

I highly doubt that VY would come to a team to play any position other than QB.

The controversy began quietly when we took him over Peppers. Now it's in full effect. Mix in 2 possibly great QB's from big time programs with an outright National Championship a piece, as well as the #1 overall pick. Also mix in the fact that our QB digressed to a degree worse than season 1 and whoa-lah.......QB Controversy.

It will only be squashed if we suceed and go at least 8-8ish next season.

I don't see the CONTROVERSY as of yet. The team is behind Carr and building behind him. If they drafted Young, or another QB, then there would be Controversy. Why would they create a problem where they see none? Unless, as I stated earlier they wanted to go and start over. I don't see it. To much money to be playing those cards.

Without a doubt......... signing Couch would be to replace TonyBanks. But if he is on our team, Carr would definitely be looking over his shoulder. We would definitely have a controversy, if Couch came out and did well in the preseason.

Just because management looked at Couch, we should all understand that our team isn't 100% behind Carr. There is doubt....

Our team(FO) is looking for a better plan B than what we have right now.

Otherwise, keep Banks.... he's cheap, has no aspirations, and has some skills. If all we need is someone to stand in when David goes down, then Banks is all we need.

OK, I absolutely agree there are other underperforming players on this team. I am glad that you agree Carr is one of them. Now--why are we paying him Brett Favre money?

I don't understand why everyone hates Carr. He completes about 60% of his passes and hasn't thrown a lot of interceptions. Yeah VY is a great prospect but we are a 4yr old franchise. We don't have to rebuild just because VY is out there....look at the Ravens....didn't they win with trent Dilfer. Take Bush and build around the Fab 4 ...DD, Bush, Dre, and Carr. Now we can focus on OL and defense.
