Katy dwellers! I need help

Gonna be in your neck of the woods next weekend and need the name of a hotel close to Katy Mills Mall, or close to the Merrill Center. My granddaughters are competing out there over the weekend and we decided to stay out in that area, since one of them has a competition time of 0645 one day and 0700 the next.

Any help asap would be appreciated.

I sent you a private message G-Ma, but also I would suggest checking out one of the many Priceline and or pricerighthotels.com, expedia. This way you get the hotel that is right for you and the kids in the local you need.
 
Thanks Thomas. I've been checking hotels in that area for the past couple hours and most are booked up. I finally was able to make a reservaton at the Hampton Inn at an unbelievably inflated price. I about choked!! Oh well, sometimes ya just have to pay the price.

SpringHill Suites Marriott. There are a lot of hotels along I-10 near Highway 6. You could just drive the 10-15 minutes on into Katy.
 
Spring Hill Suites is all booked. That's where I wanted to stay. Prices seem to be about the same regardless of the hotel chain. I perfer Marriott. I'm still checking for some lower prices. Holiday Inn Express is even booked.

What's going on in Katy? I don't even know, and I live here. Did you try the La Quinta and I-10 on Mason?
 
Well, I have no idea what's going on other than this competition. It's very large. Probably at least 400+ kids participating, so I've been told.

La Quinta is booked except for their 2 rm suites. I got a better deal at the Hampton.

I'm still looking for a better deal, but, hanging on to the reservation I have.

You're probably just better off going with the reservation.

Dance: as in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop, and acro. NO ballrooom! :dance2: The kids compete in solo's, duets, trios, and groups. This is the regional competition, which covers southeast Texas, and southwest La. The competition is really tough, but, the girls have a lot of fun.
 
This may be of no help but thought I would mention it, we just booked a hotel on the river walk in SA on Hotwire.com, they are supposed to be good for the hotel thing. Got a great deal, but you might not have enough lead time for anything to be open as it sounds now.

It's been really weird. Some other people from our dance studio are having problems finding rooms also. Must be some type of convention or something in town next weekend. We had originally planned to stay at home and just drive it each day, but, when we found out the competition schedule decided it would be a lot less stress if we just stayed on that side of town.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Unless something comes up, I'll just pay the price at the Hampton. It's really not that much more than all the other places I called anyway, better than some. I didn't realize hotels in Houston were so expensive. Maybe it's just that time of year.

Classic...my parents recently moved to Katy. My wife and I always joke with them about the River Walk being just around the corner.

Two things.

1. *Reminder to self do not post when half asleep youmake yourself look like a dumbass.* That and meeting people and not knowing names is a real winner for when posting as well.

2. Not sure how far away your looking G-Ma but there are several hotels near Hywy 6 that should be about the same cost, including the Omni, Holiday Inn and Marriot. It is not super close but maybe you can get a better deal being a little bit away.
