Kam Chancellor retiring?

Says his neck hasn't healed, so it would be very smart to call it a career.
Evidently, although not reported, Chancellor has sustained a "hangman's fracture," a fracture of C2 (2nd cervical vertebra), one of the few cervical fractures that can be treated in some cases without surgery. However, it appears that his fracture ends have not united/healed (a non union of the fracture line). A situation at this level leaves him an extremely high risk for movement of the fracture with resultant damage to the spinal cord.................and quadriplegia. Failure at healing at this high cervical level requires surgery, and definitely precludes contact sports, as this surgery does not protect against high impact trauma to the neck.
