When the Houston Texans made defensive end Mario Williams the No. 1 pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, they figured his massive presence on the field would put fans in the seats at Reliant Stadium. Now the team is asking him to work overtime as a ticket salesman for a day.

The NFL team will begin selling single-game seats on July 18, with an exclusive pre-sale that morning at 7 a.m. to 100 randomly selected fans whose names will be drawn to get first crack at tickets.

Fans can register for the pre-sale event at www.HoustonTexans.com. The deadline is 5 p.m. July 13.

Williams and tight end Owen Daniels will conduct the first couple of transactions at the ticket office. Tickets will go on sale that day to the general public at 10 a.m

date has passed though :(

My husband was one of the 100 lucky ones to get selected for the pre-sale at 7:30am this morning. We went down there with the kids, and I was snapping a picture of Mario as he came out of the radio booth, and a Texan employee asked if I wanted the kids' picture with Mario. Of course I said yes, and got a decent picture of the kids with him. I'll admit, we're Saints fans first (I grew up in NO, so it's in the blood; sorry!), and my middle son is a Reggie Bush fan, but I told him he needs to pull for Mario too, since mommy is also a Texans fan. Since he met Mario he's now a fan of his, and has been talking about Mario non-stop today. Kid's gotta learn that it's okay to pull for more than one team...:texflag:
