Joseph Addai vs Demeco Ryans

Hall of Fame
How did Joseph Addai do in college against Demeco Ryans and the Alabama defense? Now that he is the Colts running back I want to know if Demeco wiped the floor with him in college or not. If he did, then we could be potentially looking at a split with the Colts this season :yahoo:

2005 - 2 carries, 4 yards
2004 - 12 carries, 99 yards, 1 TD; 3 receptions, 46 yards, 1 TD
2003 - 5 carries, 31 yards; 2 receptions, 9 yards
2002 - 5 carries, 15 yards

True, but technically speaking, he never had a 100 yard game on DeMeco Ryans. Lets hope we can keep it that way!!

I'm an LSU fan and am very familiar with Addai's career at LSU. Addai missed some action during the conference season, including against Bama, as he was banged up. In previous years, where the stats show he didn't get many carries against Bama, keep in mind LSU was pretty deep consistently at the RB position. Alley Broussard, Justin Vincent and Shyron Carey all have had 100-plus-yard rushing games for the Tigers the last three years. It was an RB by committee much of the time.

As for Addai, he put up nice numbers when he got the chance but didn't get to be the featured back a lot. But he runs a 4.4 40, is very physical between the tackles, runs hard until the whistle and catches the ball well, either out of the backfield or lined up wide. He's very versatile. About the only negative I can think of about him is that he's more of a straight ahead runner and doesn't seem to be as instinctive and shifty. I saw him break one into the secondary once last season, and when he got in the open field by himself, he seemed to hesitate, as if he wasn't sure what to do. Maybe he's so geared to contact, he was expecting or looking for it.

I hope he looks for it against D. Ryans cause it wont take long for him to find it, and I seriously doubt he wins that battle if he's not shifty and elusive...straight ahead right at demeco...thats a crash collision to watch for.:superman:

I don't think it matters how Addai did because I think Rhodes and him will split carries if Addai gets lucky. Rhodes is too underrated since he played behind Edge. Look at what Larry Johnson's done behind Priest Holmes.

Peyton vs Mario!!!:fireball:

that would be no contest as well more like Mario's production vs. Dwight Freeney's, or whoever the Colts will try to isolate/double team him with on the offensive line.

Demeco will adapt to a role similar to the one he commanded @ Alabama he is just such a smart football player he will run the defensive sets and in this case he will be the one reading & studying Peyton Manning and make his day a nightmare all over the field.

but you may be right about one thing, Mario will end up being the one to knock Peyton out of the game :ouch:

im looking at the other peoples rushing stats, and Jesse Daniels had 22 carries and 0 yards?? how can that be true??
