Does anyone know his official title on the staff? It isn’t listed anywhere. I’m guessing it’s got something to do with DBs. Personally I think he is exactly who we need to have on the team to bring out Stingley a bit more.
Like every former player nobody really knows if he's going to be a good coach until he coaches but presumably he's been doing something since he played and that probably involves coaching. I see no real reason not to be optimistic. I remember the effect he had on our secondary when he got here. I consider it a good move.
Glad to see J Jo on the staff. Was a helluva player for us and a great mentor during his stint with the Texans. Hope he does well and gets on the staff on a more permanent basis after the training.
As I understand it this is not a permanent position. Same thing Jerrod Johnson did early in his career with SF/IND. They join the staff for training camp and gain experience on the coaching side/network for future positions.
For a guy like Jo Jo I highly doubt he’d have trouble finding a coaching position full time so I expect this to be more of him seeing if he wants to be a coach full time. Using training camp as his exposure to the profession rather than committing to a full season.
I hope he gets a full time position with the team! He’s a player who’s style would transfer over to coaching very well just like DeMeco.
I have always like J-Joe since the day the Bengals took him in the first round.
Liked him when he came to the Texans and think he would be a good coach for sure.
Hope he does great things with the secondary during his piece of time with the Texans !!
