The tight end the Texans want, Jeb Putzier, wasn't available to come to Houston because his wife recently had a baby.

It's no secret that coach Gary Kubiak, offensive coordinator Troy Calhoun and tight ends coach Brian Pariani all of whom coached Putzier in Denver would like to add him to the roster.

Putzier is a good receiver. He'd be the perfect complement to Mark Bruener, who's an outstanding blocker. Some Texans opponents say Bruener had his best season as a blocker since he entered the NFL as Pittsburgh's No. 1 pick.

let's hope the best for the Putzier family and that they decide H-Town is the place for them to be.
 
I read an article somewhere a few days ago that said Putzier and his agent are the ones pushing to come to Houston that he wants to play here. I guess he wants to be reunited with Kubes. I've got no problem with it as long as he is not overpaid.
 
Can you imagine having a TE that can both catch and block? No more telling the other team what we are doing by having one of our TEs on the field. Maybe we can also add another audible to our playbook.

If I am not mistaken, Putzier is a Billy Miller type TE, great hands, not so great blocking.

I wonder why this guy was not the first one targeted. He should already be on the roster. Yet we go and give money to a guy like Anthony Weaver.
 
Great for him, but he does not have to be here to agree in principle to a deal that can be emailed or faxed to his agent. So how does his chick having a kid apply to why he is not signed yet.

Relax coach.

Most of the time after you have a baby, you sleep and then you wife sleeps while you do everything else. Jeb will be a fine addition to us, but I agree with you on Weaver.

Got a massage and am still agitated if these signings prove true. Seems like it is gonna be a long off season for the Texans.
 
atleast these guys are trying, its beeter than what capers and company did, we just sat back and waited except on R. Smith and :crying: P.B lol, great one capers.
 
We need an experienced 4-3 end because we need depth at that position. Talent wise we have no idea how these outside backers will adjust to putting their hand back on the ground. We need depth because we need to rotate them in and out.

Weaver is a good pickup.

Rosenfels,no idea on that one.

Putzier is the only other signing I would really like to see... just close the checkbook.. We Do not need a BIG NAME player tying up salary cap space. Bring in players that can help.. I think we did that with weaver. Now get Putzier.
