Jason Rader - TE prospect from NFLEL

Does anyone have an opinion of this guys potential. From what I can see he has good hands and he's a strong blocker as well. The only thing i've found so far is that was waived by the Falcons. He showed good numbers on an NFLEL team that struggled offensively though. Anyone else have an opinion?

He was a marginal TE @ Marshall after tranferring from Georgia (could be trouble there). He was a lineman in high school. Undrafted FA signed by the Falcons (probably for the sake of having a TE in camp cuz Crumpler was nursing an injury probably thru camp) and then waived on 9/5/04. That's right when the season starts. The bright side is that Rhein Fire used their 1st pick on him (#2 overall) in the NFLEL draft so someone seen something in 'em. As far as being a Texan, we've 4 TE's already and 3 of them know our system. He might be worth a look-see if one our guys goes...I'm not gonna say it, I don't want to jinx anything.

It might be worth bringing him in for a look during camp... based on his performance in NFLEL he might be an upgrade to what we have... at least he can catch the ball... if he can block as well as they build him up to... he would be a definite upgrade. IMHO

He'll probably get waived B-4 the season starts sometime in early Sept. He'll then clear waivers and we'll place him on our PUP (physically unable 2 perform) list. If he ever gets it going maybe he could use a season across the pond.
 
I think the TE we signed is pretty much an upgrade over this guy from the NFLE. We should concentrate on getting an upgrade from the guy we signed.
