Is it me?

Is it just me or is it that whenever we upset or beat a respected team, the announcers often like to make excuses for our opponents. I wasn't listening real closely but I thought I heard Solomon Wilcox saying that the Jags came in flat maybe due to playing a Green Bay team in cold weather the previous game. Well didn't the Texans play a stifling Bears defense in even colder weather their previous game? It just seems like the announcers don't give the Texans credit as much as they like to postulate what the other team did to itself to cause it to lose. I just wish they'd come out more often and say that we were just flat out the better team that day. Ok, venting complete.

It's not you. The Texans never beat their opponents - Texans' opponents merely beat themselves. The Texans aren't even there.

Just because you beat Tiger Woods, doesn't make you Tiger Woods.

Respect is a funny thing. Until we earn it, nobody will give us any. It's the same reason why we won't be on Monday Night Football next season. Until we get to the playoffs, we carry the luggage.

:sumo: I can see us getting ONE Monday night game. Proble against the Jags. Both good young teams that could contend next year. Their fans may have been too smug to call us a rival or threat before today but, you know they will want us BAD next year.

How do you know we wont make it to monday night football next year?

You're kidding, right?

It ain't got a thing to do with rivalries. It's got everything to with national TV ratings. That's why the Cowboys will probably get 3 MNFs, even if they're a bad team. They have a national following. The Texans don't. The only way for the Texans to get a national following, is to force their way onto a national TV. The only way to do that is to get into the playoffs. That gets the exposure, and that gets the respect.

The Bengals were on Monday night football this year. :hmmm:

Well, I guess if the bungles with those pretty uniforms can get on MNF, you'd think the Texans could, too. But, I wouldn't put money on it.

I love this qoute.. cause it is basicly saying "you may have beaten the best, but you arent the best unless the media says you are"

sad but true.

The only way we will get respect at any point in the next 10-15 years.. is if we make it to the playoffs numerous times.. and/or go to a couple superbowls.
