What about Nick Caley, shouldn't he now also have some input about decisions involving offensive personell ?If DeMeco wants him, Nick will get him.
Ryans will only want him if Caley does. The answer to the op is yes but the second question should be should we. I vote no.What about Nick Caley, shouldn't he now also have some input about decisions involving offensive personell ?
If Kupp re-structures or signs with the Texans after being cut I could see this happening. The Texans have to do something about the WR position this offseason and draft. But I don't think they can afford Kupp. They need decent o-linemen as much or more than WRs and RBs. Or TEs.
Makes you wonder why they are so desperate to get rid of him?![]()
Rams Willing To Eat Money In Kupp Trade
The Rams are reportedly willing to eat some of Cooper Kupp's contract to facilitate a trade.www.profootballrumors.com
Overpaying for an older and often injured player...trading probably beats cutting KuppMakes you wonder why they are so desperate to get rid of him?
They're trying to get something for him. NFL GMs are probably telling them by not telling them that the contract they were dumb enough to sign this guy to (& I like Cupp) is insane & they want no part of it.Makes you wonder why they are so desperate to get rid of him?
Yes, but a veteran pedestrian is using his legs every day rather than driving everywhere so he is in better shape.....Yall do know Kupp hasn't had 1k season in 4 yrs, right? He's 700 yds and 12 ypc. In fact, he only has 2 1k season out of 8. You can draft a younger, cheaper more explosive wr vs a pedestrian 30 yr old
And dodging in and out of traffic would probably have very good laterals and hips probably roll well. Might even be good in back pedals and quick off the line starts.Yes, but a veteran pedestrian is using his legs every day rather than driving everywhere so he is in better shape.....

Yep, hip drop tackles have done him inFrom what I understand, Kupp’s injuries have come by way of the hip drop tackle.
Or the other he mentioned, Xavier Johnson that was a teammate of Stroud at OSUOff Derek Stingley’s recommendation of him I say we give Jared Wayne a shot
If Rams will pay his base salary next two years, I would be okay with Houston paying his roster bonuses. From what I understand, Kupp’s injuries have come by way of the hip drop tackle. If he’s 100% this season….maybe the Texans get a 900+ yard receiver. His experience with this system could make him a valuable asset. I also believe the Rams will wind up eating a lot of his contract to move him. If Caserio is game, hopefully they extend him with remaining balance, front load the extension while adding season.

COLLEGE:
- Spent six seasons at Ohio State University (2018-23), seeing action in 33 games and recording 44 rushes for 358 yards (8.0 avg.) and one touchdown. Reeled in 26 receptions for 329 yards (12.7 avg.) and two touchdowns
- Was initially a walk-on at OSU, but went on to earn a full scholarship and was also named team captain in his career
- Scored three touchdowns in 2022, including two in the biggest of games: a 24-yard touchdown reception to give Ohio State its first lead over Notre Dame; and a 37-yard touchdown reception with a 360-degree spin move against Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinals at the Peach Bowl to give Ohio State a 28-24 halftime lead
- Made his mark initially on special teams and by the end of his career had logged 924 special teams snaps across all four units
- Was a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete selection
He was open when he dived into Dell's knee alsoIn the chiefs playoff game CJ went to Wayne twice and he was wide open both times for pretty sizeable gains. 1 of those passes he just slipped coming out of his break and the other I think the db just made a good play to rake it out of his hands at the last second.
How about a guy that's been in the system like Demarcus Robinson or young vet FA's like Elijah Moore/Tylan Wallace or Bo Melton. Melton has already learned the WCO with the Packers.Kupp has veteran savvy. We need a veteran that produces. Can’t rely on a draft pick. You don’t know what you have there. If not Kupp, Diggs, or Hollywood Brown.
He was open when he dived into Dell's knee also
The benefit to trading for Kupp is if you trade for him you're guaranteed to get him. If he gets to FA all bets are off.If the Texans are interested, I hope they wait till he is cut, I don't see any benefit to trading from him.
Yeah, but unlike Mixon, I'm not sure Kupp is worth the tradeThe benefit to trading for Kupp is if you trade for him you're guaranteed to get him. If he gets to FA all bets are off.
Point taken, posters were saying this same thing after the Mixon trade.Yeah, but unlike Mixon, I'm not sure Kupp is worth the trade
Not many receivers win the triple crownYeah, but unlike Mixon, I'm not sure Kupp is worth the trade

I mean yeah, but it was 4 years and an injury (or two) ago. I suggest he's still that guy is a bit of a stretchNot many receivers win the triple crown
Agreed, but other teams still were worried enough to consistently double team him even with Puka on the field. Think how that could open it up for NicoI mean yeah, but it was 4 years and an injury (or two) ago. I suggest he's still that guy is a bit of a stretch

My thinking is this, I would trade for Kupp and sign Robinson in FA if the Rams were willing to eat enough of Kupp's contract to make the trade worth it for the Texans.
Either way I'm adding Robinson in FA and either adding a WR in trade or FA and drafting another WR in by the 4th rd at the latest. Caserio needs to totally rebuild the WR room. The current room is either unhealth or not good enough.
I don't think Egbuka makes it to 1-26.I’d draft WR- Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State) and make a simple trade with the Rams for Cooper Kupp. Egbuka arrives as the WR2 and Kupp is still the SWR. I’d still be looking to add WR- Dont’e Thornton Jr (Tennessee) late in the draft or as a priority UDFA signing.
I’d include Metchie in this trade, provided the Rams were covering the majority of his contract. They get an inexpensive WR who could fit their system and may welcome a change of scenery. Really don’t want to give up a draft pick to make this happen
I’d be somewhat interested in Robinson. He is 30, but had somewhat of a breakout season and would be an instant fit like Kupp.shorter term deal I’m good.
Moore is the other guy I know and I’d be more excited about him. He is younger than DR, and is a second round pick on a bad team. Even with all the crap, surrounding him, he has put up decent numbers. I think he’s got more juice to go…so yes I would 100% be onboard.
Your other two…I do not know.
But some quick searching tells me Melton and Wallace are JAG types at best. Im not opposed to depth and adding competition, but I doubt either moves the needle whatsoever for this offense. My two cents
Too soon.He was open when he dived into Dell's knee also

& you’ll end up overpaying. The benefit to trading for Kupp is if you trade for him you're guaranteed to get him. If he gets to FA all bets are off.
I watched this video and immediately wondered why they didn't get more playing time. Noticed Stingley didn't say Metchie or Hutchinson. We tried this already with Diggs and the results were mixed at best. Think we need to stay away from acquiring older guys and get younger guys in here.
Off Derek Stingley’s recommendation of him I say we give Jared Wayne a shot
I have a number in mind and if the Rams are able to meet the number then I would do the deal.& you’ll end up overpaying.
Now you could negotiate what you’re going to pay for him without talking to him or his agent.
Hope you're right. There’s a chance he might be there if Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona) and Luther Burden III (Missouri) go ahead of him. The real wild card could be Mathew Golden (Texas). If he’s the 3rd WR selected…..I’d be pretty confident Egbuka would be there at 25 for the taking
Egbuka would be the perfect slot for us.Hope you're right.
I've got Egbuka/Burden rated even as WR2 and both in the top 15 prospects.
Brian Thomas Jr had 87 for 1282 and 10tdsKupp has veteran savvy. We need a veteran that produces. Can’t rely on a draft pick. You don’t know what you have there. If not Kupp, Diggs, or Hollywood Brown.
What would you think about Caserio bringing in DeMarcus Robinson and Tutu At well in FA?They need a wr that can run by people.
Agreed. When talking about value, the market for vet WRs is way overpriced. Would rather take a swing in the draft and have the rookie contract then spend elsewhere in free agency.Brian Thomas Jr had 87 for 1282 and 10tds
McConkey had 82 for 1100 and 7 tds
Both were taken late 1st rd and out performed everyone not named Nico. Get a young wr no later than 2nd rd which they didn't do last year. The college passing game allows teams to get great value on wrs.
