I'm done with trying to analize all of this, I don't know what we should do and it doesn't really matter what we do. This board is going to explode on draft day. No matter who we chose, its not going to work out, because non of these players are going to come in and live up to the hype. Now when you throw on top of that, the hometown hero, arguably the best athlete this state has ever produced, has just declared for the draft and if we pass on him, we have to watch him fall to the "other" team and quite possibly have to sit back while Bud is laughing his fat *** off, shooting the finger at us again, thats what he is doing. Well everybody wanted the first pick (including me), well now we got it, we got exactly what we asked for.

That's the funniest part. It was probably easier to pick at #3 in 2003 than it is to pick at #1 in 2006.

Dude! Chill! It will all work out, don't take it so personally.
Sit back, have a beer (or iced tea if you are me) and just take it all in and laugh at most of it. Alot of the analysis now is hearsay and opinion (most are just in love with the current buzz player's name). There is alot to learn in the next few weeks, just set back and let it soak in. This won't wreck your life, it won't even affect it at all, unless you want it to. Let Uncle Bob shoulder the worry. :brickwall

3 months is along time. Hate to see Ben Taub benefit from the woes of our fans. This keeps up, they may get straight jackets in Battle Red, Liberty White and Steel Blue with a Texans emblem in front. :)

I agree with you on this. I am TOTALLY torn on what to do come draft day, and this board is going to explode no matter what.

It's a no brainer to me. Draft Bush, pick up some good OL guys through FA, and set back and watch our team mature and come together as a TEAM!! We don't need a one man show!! Let V. Young go to Tenn, who cares!!? Ten years from now they will still be without a SB ring! After all, they still have Bud Adams as an owner!! He will find some way to screw things up, he always does. The almighty Steve McNair was never able to pull it off, what makes you all think V. Young can?

Well we also have 3 more picks in the Top 66 we can use to get TE and O-line.

That's where I figured we'd address the o-line - in the first day of the draft, not in free agency. Which is the right thing to do, but there's probably not going to be an immediate impact there.

Not me, I am not part of the "everybody". All I ever wanted was for this team to win and the rest will work itself out. I never wanted the first pick over a "W". But now that we got it let's use it wisely. There will always be some backlash from the fans...truth be told we won't know for maybe a year or more how smart our pick turns out to be. We should reserve judgement until there are quantifiable results, and support Our Team in the interim.

It's hard man...I know. It sucks seeing your team go through what happened this year. No fan deserves it. You know topics are going to get heated, trying to figure out what's best for the team. Something tells me what's best for this team is what Dan Reeves is going to do for it. We are going to have a fresh start with a new coach with a new persepective. The only thing us fans can do is overanalyze issues involving the team that none of are qualified to do. Leave it to the professionals.

There's no need to get all upset. Here's what's going to happen. Tennessee, thinking that New Orleans will take Young over Leinart, will trade the 3rd pick for our 1st pick & give us LT Daniel Loper & a 3rd round pick for our troubles. That way, Young goes #1, Leinart goes #2, & we take Bush at #3.

Disclaimer: I'm still of the opinion that trading down for more picks is the best move.

I'm not a fan of Carr at all, as I've written in here, but I think the smartest and most straight forward thing is Bush and then O-line in the early to middle rounds. Fill in as much as you can through free agency. That way you keep your core and hopefully a new coaches direction will help. You give Carr that one year to see what he has. I DO belive Young will be a stud and can do better here but I don't like the cap hit if you sign Carr or use the franchise tag and then have to give all that money to Toung too.

I like this scenario. I love VY but I think the Texans have already chose to stay with Carr, and I think it would just cost too much to have both QB's. Right now we need to upgrade as many positions as possible, OL and Defense first.

Analysis? Is that what it is?

A lot to learn? But we already know everything!

Geeezzzz, Morlon McCree just picked off another pass in the playoffs. What a bunch of BOOBS we had for coaches. I posted back when that we made a mistake letting him go. Can't believe they couldn't see he was a player.

In a lot of ways its like winning the lottery. We eventually take for granted the goodies that are in front of us...I'm as guilty as the next guy. We all just want what's best for the team and truthfully we may never find out what the best is..."gulp!"

Carr Bomb said:
Well im tired of us letting a player go because "he isn't good enough" only to see him go on and have a good year, Look at Mccree's stats coming into today's game they aren't bad at all and it always seems to be our defensive players it happens to, supporting the argument that nobody could play in our system.

One more example of coaching vs. talent.
